You can conjure up winter decorations using a wide variety of materials and bring the beautiful winter atmosphere into your own four walls. You can create a lot of things, especially with paper, and we would like to show you a few ideas for crafting with muffin cases. Whether snowflakes for winter, door wreaths for Valentine's Day, pictures or the Chinese dragon to match the Chinese New Year, which starts this weekend, you are sure to have a lot of fun!
In keeping with winter, you can implement the following craft ideas with the children:
Make your own snowflakes from white molds
Fold a few, then cut anywhere along the fold, unfold again and you have a quick and beautiful snowflake that you can use for garlands, curtains or simple pendants. You could also make a table runner out of it or how about using it to create a greeting card?
You can use regular and mini muffin cups as wellUse coffee filtersand in this way make snowflakes of different sizes. This is a great project for children too because they can experiment with the cuts and create new designs over and over again. It stimulates creativity and is a lot of fun.
Glue pictures with paper cases
The paper cases are the perfect shape for snowmen. All you have to do is press them flat and stick them like that. Then you can add the remaining elements such as arms, hat and face using any materials. The shapes are also ideal for an igloo and your children can come up with a lot of ideas.
As already mentioned above, pictures can also be created from the cut out snowflakes. You are also welcome to have a patterned oneUse paperand, for example, make something nice for Valentine's Day.
A Chinese dragon
Between January 22nd and February 7th, China celebrates the New Year and the Chinese dragon is part of the festival decorations. That's why it's also a perfect motif for winter crafts. The body is quick and easy to make: cut the paper shapes in half and glue them in a curved line to a sheet of paper or cardboard. The muffin tins should overlap a little.
The head is a little bit more complicated: fold two ramekins in half and cut off the corners to make two folded squares. Glue these together (they overlap a little). Glue on teeth, horns, googly eyes, whiskers and flamesmade of tissue paperin addition.
Of course, this is just an example and you can modify it as you wish. Play with the colors and materials!
For carnival, make balloons with muffin tins or decorate them
These two craft ideas are also perfect for carnival: Use colorful shapes to create a picture and more specifically balloons or you can decorate the string of real, inflated balloons for a carnival party.
You can create the balloon string for the picture with gift ribbons or wool, but also with pipe cleaners. If you want, cut out the balloon bouquet after gluing it on. This is how you can create an interesting greeting orMake an invitation cardwith muffin cups. How you do the other idea is probably clear: Poke holes through the muffin tins and thread the balloon string through them, sometimes turning the tins upside down and sometimes right side up.
Crafting with muffin cups for Valentine's Day
For Valentine's Day you can make gifts, Valentine's Day cards and gift labels with muffin tins:
Make Valentine's Day cards or tags for the gift using muffin tins
Create cards for your Valentine or a label that you can attach to the Valentine's gift with a few kind words. You can use the paper muffin cups to create hearts, make a cupcake as a card motif, or even tulips and other flowers or a white dove of peace. There are no limits to your creativity.
In the picture above you can see how to fold the paper for a simple tulip. For the cupcake you need the flat, round side of the mold and a small fluted part.
Valentine's wreath as a decoration or gift
A nice gift idea for someone you love (this doesn't necessarily have to be your partner, but also your girlfriend or mother), you can choose a homemade gift. Such a door wreath is a nice idea. He can also make your ownDecorate the door.
Pinch the molds together in the middle to create a kind of flower. You can then glue the tip to a wreath blank made of any material. Alternatively, you can use pins instead, which you simply pierce through the paper and then into a suitable wreath (made of Styrofoam or foam). Insert the individual paper flowers tightly together into the blank so that there is no free space and it is well covered.
If you make the wreath with muffin cases in white or shades of blue, you can also create a winter model that can decorate your home until spring. It's best to hang it indoors as the thin paper will quickly be ruined by the winter humidity.
Or how about a colorful carnival wreath? Thread beads and cupcake wrappers onto a simple metal ring. Add pom-poms or felt pieces as desired.
