Baby's footprints are the classic

Grandparents, parents, aunts and even godparents are always happy about something like thisHomemade for Christmas, which preserve the precious moments in a child's life forever. They grow so quickly and years later you enjoy looking at how tiny your feet once were. That's why clay footprints are so popular.

  • Craft clay or salt dough
  • Acrylic paints
  • optional: gloss spray or clear varnish (must be compatible with acrylic paints)

How to create a little gift for Christmas

  • Form a ball out of the selected material and then flatten it. The dough/clay should neither be too thin, as it will not be able to produce a nice impression, nor too thick, as it will then dry for too long.
  • Now press your foot into the material and repeat this, if you want, in another piece and with the other foot too.
  • Allow the craft clay to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions or bake the salt dough.
  • Once the footprint is dry/cooled, you can paint it. It doesn't necessarily have to be a snowman like in the example. Apply each layer of paint individually and after the previous one has dried.
  • If you want, you can add another coat of clear varnish to get a glossy finish instead of matte.

You can use the idea for small Christmas giftscrafting with children, which are older, by simply using a larger amount of dough/clay. Handprints are also ideal.

Tipp:You can also turn these DIY Christmas gifts into pendants. All you have to do is poke a hole before the material is dried or baked. This works quite well with a straw, for example. By the way, they are also very suitable as small gifts for the New Year.

Such small decorative vases are a great idea for small Christmas presents for friends, but also relatives or colleagues. You can decide for yourself how big the glass container should be. Just make sure that the light source fits onto the opening later and does not fall through.

  • Glass containers (vase, mason jar, jam jar, etc.)
  • artificial snow
  • Mini Christmas trees and/or other decorations
  • Mod Podge or other napkin glue
  • LED lamp, preferably with remote control
  • Sponge brush
  • small arrangement or other Christmas decorations

This is how you can easily create a mini winter landscape

  • Put artificial snow in the decorative glass.
  • Apply glue to a portion of the glass (on the outside) and sprinkle fake snow over the area. It is best to hold the glass over a plate or other surface to catch falling snow.

  • Let everything dry. This happens quite quickly, which is why you should work in sections and not coat the entire glass with glue at once.
  • Place two trees and/or other decorations in the jar.

  • Attach the arrangement (or whatever else you have chosen) to the underside of the lamp so that it cannot be seen later.
  • Place the lamp on the opening of the glass and turn on the light.

You can also make small Christmas presents quickly and easily using wooden rings for curtain rods. For example, this is how you getpretty keychainsor another type of trailer – whatever you want.

  • Wooden rings
  • Decorative ribbons in two colors
  • Felt for the leaves or any other elements
  • red beads or pom-poms for the berries (you can also buy ready-made decorations instead of making mistletoe yourself)
  • Hot glue
  • Key ring (and wire) or string/ribbon for hanging

Make small Christmas presents – here’s how to do it:

  • Start with one of the two bands. Glue the end diagonally to the ring and wrap it around the entire ring, overlapping. It is worth adding a drop of glue at intervals for better grip.
  • Then repeat with the other ribbon, this time not overlapping the individual rows so that the previous color remains visible. You can also try putting the two ribbons together from the start and wrapping them at the same time. Just try what is easier for you.
  • Cover the beginning and end of the ribbons afterwardsbest with the mistletoe decoration. So orientate yourself on where the top of the wreath and therefore the key ring should be.
  • Using a piece of wire, you can attach the key ring and its chain to the wreath.
  • Then decorate the Christmas wreath as you wish. You can cut out small leaves from felt, glue them in place and then decorate them with red berries made from beads or pompoms.
