Beads are very popular in making handmade jewelry such as bracelets, necklaces or earrings. Nevertheless, they are also used in the household and for decorating the apartment. Today we are giving you a few ideas on how you can craft with wooden beads at home and make beautiful decorations yourself. These hanging bird's nest planters, for example, are not at all complicated to make and will surely brighten up your living room, balcony or garden.
Hanging plant holders
You need small plant pots with animal figures, in our example ceramic birds are used. There are also colored leather cords, copper wire, small wooden rings, natural pearls, a hot glue gun, scissors and plants are needed. For the plants we recommend using tillandsias or succulents.
First, you'll want to cut the copper wire long enough for about 16 beads. Then string the beads on, make a circle and tie a knot. Thread a wooden ring onto two leather cords and make a sign where the bird should hang. Next, knot the strings around the wire between each 4 wooden balls. Then the ceramic bird should be glued to the wooden balls by applying a little glue to the inner part of the beads with the hot glue gun.
After the bird is well attached to the beads, you should tie a knot under the plant pot and one under the wooden ring with another leather cord. A different color is preferable to contrast. Then form a loop as shown above and wrap the string tightly around. Finally, put the tillandsias in the pot and the bird nests are ready.
Decorative chandelier for the bedroom
This chandelier actually can't give any light, but is still a beautiful decoration for the bedroom. To make it you will need a metal hanging basket, spray paint of any color, beads of two different sizes, cotton string and a lot of patience. The creation is quite simple but time consuming.
First you should cut the string in the chosen size and make about 80 strings depending on the size of the hanging basket. Then string one small and 8-10 large wooden beads onto each string. Spray the hanging basket with paint and let it dry. When all the strings of wooden beads are finished, they should be tied to the dry hanging basket with double or triple knots. If you want to experiment, you can try plugging in light in the wooden bead chandelier.
Simple lamp with vintage flair
A simple lamp can also be decorated with wooden beads for a more elegant look and this will give you a nature-friendly feel in the home.
Use wooden beads in the household to hang up tea towels
You can also use these small beads to make kitchen accessories instead of buying them. The towel racks shown are easy to make and can be painted to match your kitchen decor. With slightly larger wooden balls and a metal ring you can get this beautiful effect cheaply in your kitchen.
Since wooden balls come in different sizes, they can be used in any room. For example, you can make a clothes hanger stand for the wardrobe. You can attach photo stands to the wall in the living room or children's room and let the best memories from your vacation hang. Some wooden balls make the lamp's string more interesting and a wooden garland will brighten up any white wall. Wooden coasters are also great and protect surfaces from heat and stains.
DIY holder for the kitchen roll
Another idea for your kitchen is this simple kitchen towel holder. It is quite practical, takes up only a little space and is easy to assemble. Additionally, you can decorate all or some of the wooden balls differently and create your own design.
