Making origami decorations – this is how it’s done

To make this first origami autumn decoration, take the first leaf and place it in front of you with the white side up. Fold it in half once, open it again, and then fold it the other way. The folds obtained should form four squares. Place the unfolded paper in front of you again with the white side up, then fold one side up to the center line.

Repeat on the opposite side and then on the other two sides as well. Now fold the side that you folded last outwards to the outer edge, which you also repeat on the opposite side. Turn the paper over and fold the newly folded two sides up to the crease.

Fold, fold and fold again

Unfold the paper almost completely. Only the very first fold should be retained. Now look at the paper: you have several folds that are perpendicular to this very first fold. Between the middle and subsequent folds on both sides, add another fold in the middle. You then use this to slide the two outer segments under this area around the center fold. This way you get two layers, so to speak.

Repeat with the next two fold areas.

Then you need to fold the corners back on both sides (except the outermost ones). If you now unfold the paper again, it should look like the picture below on the left. The tiny triangles created by folding the corners have small folds in the middle that point upwards. Now press this down.

Make your own origami decoration – shape the pumpkin

Return the paper to the shape it was before you folded the corners, except keeping the folded triangles. Turn it over and fold two of the outermost four corners to the next fold, while the other two corners should extend to the second fold. If you now turn the paper over, you should see the shape of a pumpkin. Make as many of these pumpkins as you like. Now all you have to do is cut out green stems and stick them and the string to the back using adhesive tape. The origami autumn decoration is ready!

Autumnal origami table decoration in the shape of stars

Don't forget the table, if you are already in the process of making beautiful origami autumn decorations yourself and use them to complement the plate and/or the napkins. The following idea is suitable for any season if you simply match it with the color.

Fold the paper in half once and then fold it in the other direction again to make a small square. Allow the top layer to stick up slightly, then press the corner that is sticking up. Flatten them so that you get a kind of triangle. Repeat on the other side. Take one pointed corner, fold it to the middle and repeat with the other corner.

Make several of these shapes and then glue them together in a circle to form the shape of oneto receive stars. The origami autumn decoration looks particularly chic when you combine different nuances into onebeautiful color gradientcombine.

Use classic origami figures

We have already given you instructions for this a few timesvarious origami figuresgiven. You can also use these if you want to make origami autumn decorations. It is important that the motif is either autumnal or neutral and that you use the right colors. For example, a simple crane, the origami classic of all, can complement your fall decorations if you make it in yellow, orange, red, brown and/or burgundy, purple or other suitable colors. You can then stick several of these origami figures (flowers are also perfect for origami autumn decorations) together on the wall or use them for garlands or a curtain.
