Make your own paper Christmas tree quickly and easily
Every craft fan has plenty of paper at home (at least when there are children in the house), so you can even make the following ideas spontaneously. They are not only ideal as pendants for the Christmas tree, but can also decorate windows or lamps. Or how about decorating your Christmas presents with it?
Make a Christmas tree out of wavy strips of paper

- Paper strips (1.5 cm wide in the example)
- Sewing thread
- Nadel
- Pearls
To get the shape of a Christmas tree, the paper strip must be threaded onto string in a wave shape. You can mark the correct points for this in advance if you are not sure you can get it done without it evenly. For orientation, the dimensions for the holes in the tree from the example:
Poke or mark the first hole 0.5 cm from the edge of the paper strip. Then add another hole 2 cm further. For all further holes, keep adding half a centimeter, i.e. 2.5 cm from the second hole, 3 cm from the third, 3.5 cm from the fourth, 4 cm, 4.5 cm, 5 cm, 5.5 cm, 6cm and so on. In the end, the last hole should be about half a centimeter away from the other edge (although this also depends on the length you chose for the strip.
Thread yarn through the needle and tie a knot at the end of the yarn, pierce two beads for the tree trunk and then alternate first the paper, then a bead and finish with a bead. Tie a piece of string into this last one for hanging or leave the threaded string a little longer instead of cutting it off completely.
Cut the paper strips and thread them into pieces
Alternatively, you can simply cut the strips into pieces and then alternate them with the beads in a cross shape. You need the following dimensions:
- 1 piece with 1.5 cm length
- 2 pieces each with 2 cm, 2.5 cm, 3 cm, 3.5 cm, 4 cm, 4.5 cm, 5 cm, 5.5 cm, 6 cm and 6.5 cm length
Always place the two pieces of the same size on top of each other like a plus sign and stitch the thread through the common middle.

Tie a small tree made of fir greenery
With fir green you can make a large 3D Christmas tree and use it as a decoration for the Christmas season. Simply use it in its natural green ordecorate it with Christmas tree decorations. This is how you can make an original Christmas tree:
- Wooden sticks from the hardware store (60 cm long, you can have them cut to size on site)
- Any fir green, including artificial ones, is suitable
- Cord or wire
- any container (pot, vase, bucket, etc.)

Cut the pine greenery into smaller pieces and start tying them approximately from the middle of the wooden stick. The branches should point downwards. Gradually work your way to the top, with each new row overlapping the previous one. Then hold the stick in the prepared container and fill it with soil or stones, which you can finally cover with decorations.
Make a Christmas tree out of wood – a simple idea with wooden discs and craft clay
If you want to make a Christmas tree out of wood, wooden discs are perfect. You need several of different sizes so that you can stack them on top of each other in a cone shape. Use self-drying craft clay for stacking. Playdough is also suitable. However, keep in mind that this will also harden over time and should therefore be additionally fixed with glue.

A craft project for Christmas decorations couldn't be easier: all you have to do is cut the clay into small pieces, form balls and then press them flat (you can let the clay dry first or continue straight away). Put some glue on the largest of the discs and attach a piece of clay to it. Also put some glue on it and the next sized tree slice. Continue like this until you are happy with the height. But be careful: if the tree gets too high, it won't be able to stand well. So don't overdo it!
Tipp:Arrange the tree slices in advance in the correct order. To do this, first stack them on top of each other without glue. This makes it easier to see whether the tree really becomes narrower towards the top.
