An art installation was realized in April 2016 under the open sky of the Australian desert, in the so-called 'red center' Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock. The 'Field of Light' project, as the name itself suggests, stretches across a field the size of four football fields and is the work of the British artist Bruce Munro. It consists of a total of 50,000 solar lights placed outside, which glow in warm, juicy shades after sunset, creating a breathtaking luminous carpet.
Solar lights outside in the Australian desert - an art project by Bruce Munro
The solar lightssimilar in shapeGarlic flowers that end with a glass ball instead of garlic bulbs. Both at night and during the day, when the bulbs are not lit, these look like real, beautiful flowers with long stems made of shimmering glass. All solar lights are connected to each other and in the dark a network is created, a glowing carpet.

All 50,000 lights are involved in the light spectacle and are connected in groups to form a solar panel. The network connections glow and represent an emotional event that every element, like every person, is an inseparable part of the whole and has a relationship with the others. The wonderful light effects can be viewed after dusk until March 2017.
