Crafting with paper plates is so much fun! You can hang your cute polar bear craft from the ceiling or hold it in your hand and watch it keep spinning. The spiral can rotate even faster, which is particularly exciting for children.

4. Paint the center of the polar bear ears black and glue them to the back of the head.
5. Glue on the googly eyes and the black pompom nose and paint a happy smile.
6. Cut out two polar bear paws from the edge of the second paper plate and paint the claws and pads black.
7. Glue the paws onto the spiral.
8. Cut out two or more fish shapes from the blue paper and use the blue marker to draw on the eyes, mouth, scales and fins.
9. Glue the fish to the outer edge of the paper plate spiral.
10. Turn the paper plate swirl over and use a piece of tape to attach the blue satin ribbon to the back of the polar bear's head. Complete!
Make piggy spirals for carnival
Pigs are a popular motif for carnival. However, this craft idea is not only ideal for carnival, but also helpful if you want to tell the children more about the farm animals.
Materials and tools required:
2 paper plates (for each piggy spiral)
Pink acrylic paint
Black marker
Googly eyes
Pink satin ribbon (for hanging)
Scissors
Glue stick
tape
Total time: 30 minutes
Instructions
1. Paint two paper plates pink. One will form the body for your pig vertebra, the other the head, feet and curly tail.
2. Cut one of the paper plates into a spiral, working from the outside in.
3. Cut out the middle of the second paper plate and set it aside. This will later be the pig's head.
4. Cut two pig ears from the edge of the second plate.
5. Cut 4 pig feet from the edge of the second plate.
6. Using the black marker, paint the bottom of the pig legs black.
7. Cut out a round pig's trunk from the edge of the second paper plate and draw two nostrils.
8. Cut a small section of the paper plate rim and fold it into a U shape.
9. Glue the pig's trunk onto the U-shape. This makes the nose stand out from the face, giving a nice 3D appearance.
10. Glue the pig's ears, nose and googly eyes onto the round head. Draw a smile and ear wrinkles.
11. Cut a thin strip from the edge of the paper plate and wrap it around the marker to make a curled pigtail.
12. Glue the pig's head, feet and tail to the body.
13. Using tape, attach a piece of bow to the back of the head. Now you can hold the ribbon and let your paper plate piggy spin!
