Mother's Day is traditionally celebrated on the second Sunday in May - and children are particularly looking forward to the special occasion. Now you can finally give free rein to your creativity and make lovely gifts for Mother's Day! Of course, adults can also take part and help with the crafts. We'll show you several DIY projects for kindergarten and school-age children: clay plant stakes, greeting cards made from fabric scraps, oven mitts with handprints, bookmarks with pressed flowers and many others! Bookmarks with pressed flowers
The firstIdea for giftsMother's Day allows for a certain degree of freedom when it comes to crafting - you'll need flower petals, herbs, grass and a laminator for the project. You can find the plants in your own garden, or organize a trip and collect field flowers with the children. First, let the flowers dry in a warm room for a day. If you want to save time, you can gently dry the flowers first with paper towels. Then take two heavy books (dictionaries, for example) and two sheets of parchment paper. Open the first book, then place a sheet of parchment paper on each page, scatter the flowers on the paper and close the book. Place the second book on top of the first. Change the parchment paper every two days. After two weeks the flowers will be completely dry. Then thispressed flowersPlace in laminating foil and laminate, cut the foil into a rectangular shape and then punch a hole in the top middle. This beautiful, durable decoration will especially delight mothers who have green fingers.
Make your own plant plugs
Plant stakes bring order to the garden or on the balcony and are therefore not only a beautiful but also a very practical gift. You will need the following materials for the craft project: air-hardening clay, rolling pin, watercolor and knife. First, the air-hardening clay is rolled onto the table, then cut into pieces measuring 2cm X 10cm. If you wish, you can lovingly label the plant plugs with toothpicks. After the clay has completely dried, the children can paint the finished plant stakes with watercolor.
Homemade jewelry stand
Even beginners can easily handle air-hardening clay, which is why the material is particularly suitable forvarious DIY projectsin which the children can take part. There are no limits to your own creativity - as the example in the photo above shows. In addition to clay, you will also need a pencil, knife or cutter and a rolling pin for the jewelry stand. First, the child's hand is lightly pressed onto the rolled modeling clay, then the modeling clay is cut out. At the end, the handprint is shaped into the correct shape using a bowl.

For the project you will need the following materials: jam jar, acrylic paints, brushes, painter's tape. First remove the label from the jam jar, then clean the jar thoroughly and let it dry. Apply the white paint with a brush and let it dry again. Then mark the vase and stick the tape along the markings. Do you have white cloth napkins that look boring? Give them a new look with cheerful summer motifs. First iron the fabric napkins carefully. Then cut out two templates from the dishwashing sponge - a triangle for the watermelon and a shape for the green peel. Apply the paint evenly to these stamps using a stippling brush and then press the stamps onto the napkin with light pressure. Then carefully remove the stamp and let it dry. At the end, draw the melon seeds with black paint.
Bouquet of pasta flowers
For the project pictured above you will need green craft wire, green paper, pasta in the appropriate shape, yellow pencils, glue. First cut the craft wire into pieces, then create a template for the green petals, cut out the leaves and attach them to the craft wire with glue. At the end, attach the noodles to the wire using the glue. The project is extremely simple and will bring joy to both kindergarten and school-age children.
