Depending on how much time and effort you want to invest, you can use our templates to print out the Halloween cookies for children and adults or create your own edible designs using fondant etc. Here are our ideas with which you can decorate Halloween muffins:

Make ghost muffins with white fondant

Roll out white fondant thin enough that you can then shape it with your fingers. The idea here is to make the material look like a loosely hanging sheet - just like ghosts! For the eyes, you can melt chocolate and drip it onto the fondant or simply use edible pens to draw on.

Then place the ghost on top of the muffin. To fix it better, you can stick a toothpick or something similar into the small cake beforehand. Or how about a lollipop that you then put on the ghost?

Tipp:If you feel like it, you can of course make many other suitable figures out of fondant and decorate the Halloween muffins, which is really not that difficult. And it doesn't have to be perfect anyway.

Print out our template and select the motifs you want. Cut them out and use the shapes as a template to trace them onto craft card in a matching color and cut them out again. Then stick a toothpick so that you can insert the homemade cake plug into the muffins. If it bothers you that the toothpick is visible on the back of the motif, you can simply stick the same motif over it (i.e. two motifs per plug). You can also use a marker to draw details such as eyes, pumpkin bulges, etc.

Make your own spider muffins with chocolate and spider webs

You have various options for creating spiders on muffins for Halloween.

  • A variant would be to use the muffin as the body, place it on a plate and create the legs around it using frosting and a piping bag. This also works on a tray or cake plate if you leave enough space between the cakes. For the heads you can cut small circles out of dough.

  • Another variant would be to first transform the muffins into cupcakes with cream/frosting. Then sprinkle the cream with chocolate sprinkles and stick cut, edible strings or licorice into the sides for the spider legs. You can also do this with broken pretzels (feel free to dip them in chocolate first).
  • You can also create the spider theme with a simple web. To add a spider web to the Halloween muffins, simply pour melted chocolate into a piping bag/nozzle and paint the easy-peasy web onto the cake.

  • Draw the net with chocolate on baking paper and let it harden. You can then carefully remove the chocolate net and use itoriginal decorationUse for the Halloween muffins.

Place pink frosting in a piping bag and then draw a brain on the cupcake. To do this, simply create three rows of waves that are ideally connected to each other. You can practice the whole thing with pen and paper before moving on to the Halloween muffin. Design mummies on cakes

You can also make mummy muffins in the same way, only this time you use white frosting or icing and “place” it over the cake like a bandage. Don't forget to leave space for the eyes, which you can make from white chocolate chips with a drop of dark chocolate, for example.

If you want to invest a little more time in the mummy muffins, you can also use fondant. Roll it out thinly and cut it into narrow strips. Then place these criss-cross over the mini cake until you are happy with the look.
