You may already have the habit of creating themed figures out of fabric and paper napkins for birthdays, Christmas or Easter. This is also possible for the horror festival! Bats, ghosts, witch hats, pumpkins and simple bows - you can fold all of this from napkins for Halloween and for some of it you don't even have to fold in the actual sense.
Bat as an accent on the plate
In addition to a preferably black cloth napkin, you will also need two googly eyes. These are not mandatory either, but do soPart of the table decorationbut definitely even cuter.
- Spread the napkin in front of you.
- Fold it horizontally in the middle once.
- Next, fold the tip at right angles in the opposite direction, leaving the tip overhanging slightly.
- Turn the right corner lengthwise once.
- Repeat with the other side.
- Position the bat on the plate and add the eyes if you wish.
Make your own pumpkin as a table decoration
For this pumpkin you don't have to fold, just pin. For this purpose you will need a napkin ring or other base, such asfor example a toilet paper roll.
- Spread the napkin in front of you.
- Place the ring in the middle and push the fabric through from underneath.
- Hold this corner with one hand and gradually push the corners of the napkins through the napkin ring from above.
- If an edge of the napkin is still visible somewhere at the end, stuff it in as well.
- It should create a round but wrinkled shape. To do this, you can take the fabric balls between your hands and shape them a little.
- Take another look at the bottom and make sure the fabric hasn't slipped out of the ring there. To be on the safe side, press it in again.
- Place the stuffed pumpkin on the plate and add a stem. A cinnamon stick, rolled paper, pipe cleaner or something similar is suitable for this.
Fold a witch's hat out of cloth or paper napkins
Do you think there can't be any more simple folding ideas? Wrong thought! This witch hat, which looks complicated, can be made in just a few seconds. You still need a loop that ensures that the simple cone looks like a hat.
- Lay the paper or cloth napkin spread out in front of you.
- Fold them horizontally in half.
- Hold the napkins at the center of the fold with one finger and turn the left corner inward three times until it almost reaches the other corner.
- Then place the right corner to the left or the one that was just turned in, formerly the left.
- The next step is a little trickier. You need to turn the open bottom side inside out to create the brim of the witch hat.
- Tie a bow above the brim with a wide velvet ribbon. Place the hat on the plate.
How about oneWitch's broom too?
Fold ghosts out of napkins for Halloween
The following two ideas are equally quick and easy to do. The first was made with a paper napkin and the second with fabric.
Lying paper ghost
If you are using a paper napkin, you can start straight away as is. You should first fold a cloth napkin twice to get a smaller square. Once you have successfully mastered the shape, you can draw the eyes and mouth with a black marker.
Upright standing ghost with a felt face
- Loosely gather the corners of the napkin to create a balloon shape.
- Tie them together below the “balloon”.
- Spread the corners of the napkin and place the ghost.
- Cut out the eyes and mouth from black felt or paper.
- Stick them to the fabric with double-sided tape. Complete!
Tie a simple bow
If you choose a typical Halloween color for the napkin, you can also tie a simple bow out of it and create a beautiful Halloween decoration on the table. A napkin ring in a matching design can also be used if you want. Or spread some spiders on the fabric!
The loop can also be used as an alternative to a normal oneUse cutlery bagif you simply insert the cutlery into the knot. Fabric is a better choice for this idea because you have to tighten the bow and paper could potentially tear in the process.
