Make flowers out of pistachio shells - here's how to do it:

  • Paint the bowls in the desired colors on a surface and allow the paint to dry thoroughly.
  • Draw a circle on the cardboard. You can place a bowl overhead and trace the outline or use a compass.
  • Cut out the circle.
  • Using hot glue, arrange the pistachio shells starting at the outer edge of the cardboard circle.
  • Then continue with the next row, arranging the bowls offset from the previous ones, i.e. always between two bowls. Also, stand them a little upright so that they overlap the previous ones a little - like real flower petals.
  • Continue doing this until you have covered the entire circle.
  • You can make additional flowers from pistachio shells as you wish, depending on what kind of composition you have in mind and how big the tree disc is.
  • Glue the flower stems with the leaves onto the disk and then add the flowers. The gift idea for Mother's Day is ready!

Alternatively, you can not cut out the circle for now, but shape the flower onto it and then spray paint it instead of brushing it. Finally, cut out the flower or the cardboard it was glued to. Real stems with leaves also look nice.

Giving away water lilies on a board: Flowers for Mother's Day with a difference

These flowers are very reminiscentthat of water lilies, not true? Making them doesn't differ too much from the flowers in the instructions above. You will need a cardboard base again, but smaller this time, and you will arrange the “petals” this time starting from the inside.Check out the craft ideaFor Mother's Day, take a closer look below:

  • Paint the bowls again with acrylic paint as desired and let them dry. They also look beautiful in nature and can be used that way. Painting also works quite well at the end, when the flower is finished.
  • Cut out a small circle. This doesn't have to be perfectly formed as it won't be visible later.
  • Now begin to shape the flower and to do this, first glue two bowls together upright in the middle of the cardboard circle (the way they were originally stuck together on the pistachio).
  • Around it, form a circle out of individual pistachio shells, overlapping at the front and at the back to create the flower for Mother's Day.
  • Continue until you have completely covered the circle, making sure to stagger each row from the previous one.
  • You can make as many flowers out of pistachio shells as you like. Then arrange them on a surface – a nice board, for example, a wooden disc, a tray or even in a frame. Make the gift for Mother's Day as unusual as you want.
