Dessert table for Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day honors love - love for your partner, but also for friends and family. So how about giving your loved ones a very special treat by creating a dessert table for Valentine's Day? Because sweets should not be missing from the gifts, whether in the form of chocolates, a cake, chocolate cookies or other delicacies. The dessert table that we would like to introduce to you consists of any desserts that you can prepare yourself or buy ready-made, as well as some decorations such as pretty ribbons and roses that add a little color to the whole thing. The idea is an inspiration from the movie Chocolat.

After putting on any tablecloth (in this case, a blue one), you can start decorating the dining table with gold ribbon. As an alternative, you can also use masking tape. To do this, first place it so that an “X” is formed.

Then cross this X with more ribbons. Triangles are created into which you can later place the vases with the roses. Instead of roses, you can of course use any other flowers and you can also choose the vase and its color yourself. But ideally it should match the tablecloth.

As already mentioned, you can prepare the desserts yourself or buy them from a baker or pastry chef. The best option, however, is to combine both, giving the dining table an additional personal touch. But since it would really take a lot of time to do everything yourself, just get a few ready-made things too.

AndMuffinsare a very popular dessert, you can consider baking them yourself for the Valentine's Day dessert table. You can find many delicious recipes here, but the main thing is that they are chocolaty to match Valentine's Day. Those are a great idea tooChocolate strawberriesfrom our recipes. The advantage is that they take very little time, but are so much more delicious.

You can also put these candied blood oranges with chocolate on top as a variation. In this way, a visual contrast to the dark, chocolatey desserts. To make them, all you have to do is slice the oranges and then blanch them, then place them in an ice bath to stop the cooking process. The slices are then cooked for about 45 minutes in a mixture of 1 1/2 cups sugar and one cup water. After they have cooled, all you need to do is dip them in glaze, which you get using a water bath.

Now you can create a chocolate plate. Here you can let your imagination run wild. In our example, a star shape was created using a mixture of cocoa powder, cinnamon and chili powder. You can now spread chocolate pieces, pralines or nuts (preferably almonds) on top.

The cheese plate, which you can design next, offers a great variety. Choose any cheese you like, whether Gouda, mountain cheese or Emmental. The main thing is that you and your loved one enjoy it. Of course, blue cheese looks particularly luxurious and would be the best choice. But we admit that it doesn't suit everyone's taste. Decorate the cheese plate with a few grapes.

You can offer wine, coffee, tea, juice or something carbonated as drinks.

All you have to do now is spread out all the plates nicely. You can use the spaces between the bands for this or place some of the plates on them. It's all a question of aesthetics. Cake stands or cake stands are also pretty and can be used wonderfully to highlight certain desserts.
