Make your own Christmas arrangement with LED candles for beautiful Advent decorations

Some people value the real flame, but the artificial versions offer some advantages. The most important thing is, of course, that the risk of fires is zero. But the fact that the LED candle lasts longer than a real one is also pretty practical. The design of today's models is extremely similar to the real ones, and even the flame looks very similar to a real one and even flickers. There are models with a timer that turn on automatically at the time you set. So a Christmas arrangement with LED candles sounds pretty perfect, right?

It is true that arrangements usually look very complicated and this may also be the case with particularly lavish models. But for a normal Christmas arrangement with LED candles, you don't need a lot of materials, nor do you have to plan a lot of time and effort. Using the following instructions, you will quickly see that making an impressive candle arrangement can be completely easy and also great fun.

You need:

  • any container (wide vase, soup bowl, kettle, wooden box, etc.)
  • Flower arranging clay
  • cling film
  • LED candle, preferably with a timer and/or remote control
  • Fir green
  • other decorations such as walnuts, small pine cones and the like
  • Hot glue
  • Scissors

How to recreate the Christmas arrangement with LED candles:

  • Fill the selected container with the modeling clay. If you want to remove it easily later, you can cover it with foil beforehand.
  • Make a well in the mixture into which the candle fits.
  • Wrap some foil around the bottom of the candle and the edges as well as up where it will stand in the dough and place it in the dough.
  • Now you can decorate with the fir green. Cut the branches to the desired length (preferably different lengths for a more natural look), leaving a long enough piece of the branch bare so that you can insert it into the dough.
  • Distribute the pine branches around the candle. If necessary, you can always press a little additional dough onto the base to fix the whole thing better.
  • Then distribute the other decorations by attaching them with hot glue.

Arrangement with an Advent calendar candle

You get a special kind of Christmas arrangement with the Scandinavian Advent calendar candles. They are marked with the data from top to bottom and every day you burn the part until the next day. That's all well and good, but how is that supposed to work with an artificial candle that doesn't actually burn? Here too, they came up with a practical solution: the candle has a chain with a ring that can be moved down a little every day.

Make a Christmas arrangement with LED candles from floral foam

With floral foam, just like with playdough, it's really easy to make a flower arrangement. It is not only offered in blocks that can be cut to size, but also in the form of rings (as wreath blanks) and hemispheres. The last two in particular are a great basis. With a ring, simply place the candle in the middle and you can hollow out the hemisphere a little for this purpose. But then it is plugged in as described above.
