Concrete garden pavilion designed in a puristic style

A garden pavilion is the perfect opportunity to move part of your house life outside, at least when the temperatures are pleasant. It is an ideal place for barbecue parties with friends in the garden or for relaxing under the open sky. Practical use and functionality are the focus when designing the outdoor stay. A concrete garden pavilion is built sustainably and impresses with its functional division of areas.

Metropolis Designhave designed a concrete pavilion as part of a larger reconstruction and renovation of a private home in Cape Town, South Africa. The aim of the project is to enable pleasant use of the outdoor area for the homeowners. Robust, sustainable materials such as concrete and wood are used in the design and achieve angular, straight-lined shapesmodern effect.

The pavilion is divided into three areas. The outdoor kitchen is completely open, not covered, only partially winterized and tiled with concrete slabs. There are seats and enough work and storage space, as well as seats. In the middle of the pavilion is the dining area. It is covered and open on both sides with a beautiful view of the garden and the property. There is a massive rectangular dining table and four wooden benches that invite you to a convivial table with family and friends. On the other side, a chill area is designed - a cozy corner wintered on two sides and completely covered. A fire pit is placed in the middle and is surrounded by concrete benches on three sides. A wooden deck covers it

In the evening, indirect LED lighting, which is incorporated into the suspended concrete ceiling, creates a harmonious atmosphere. In the uncovered area - the outdoor kitchen, the lights are mounted on the wall and directed onto the work surface. Still plannedSwimming pool on one side of the garden pavilion.
