Wood for patio and interior – house remodeling in Australia

A midcentury home in Australia was remodeled by Bower Architecture in 2014. The owners wanted to retain the distinctive character of the 1960s, but give the house a new, more modern touch. The front of the house was just refreshed and the interior and garden were modernized. Two design elements create the connection between the eras -GrauandWood for terraceand interior.

The theme of “gray and wood” is continued in the interior. The furniture is simple, functional and comfortable - a beautiful example of contemporary design oriented towards users. As a reminder of the 1960s, there are handle-free built-in cupboards in the living room and in the open kitchen. These create a uniform wood look that appears modern and at the same time the wall cabinets from the past.
