Remove rust stains from natural stone tiles

You can use a paste made from baking soda and water once the natural stone tiles are sealed. Simply pour some lukewarm water into a bowl and gradually add baking soda. Stir occasionally until you reach a creamy consistency. Put a little of the paste on a cleaning rag and gently rub it into the stain. Let the paste sit for a quarter of an hour and then wipe the surface with a damp sponge.
If the natural stone tiles are old and not sealed, you can remove the rust stains with a steam cleaner. This allows even stubborn deposits and stains to be removed quickly and reliably.
How do you remove rust stains from porcelain stoneware patio tiles?
The tiles or patio slabs made of fine stoneware are less sensitive to acids than natural stone. To be on the safe side, you should first test the effect of citric acid in an invisible area. You can also use buttermilk to remove stubborn rust stains. If the stains are new, you can also use toothpaste to remove them. Simply put the buttermilk or toothpaste on a damp sponge and rub it into the stains. Wait about half an hour and then wipe with a clean, damp sponge.
How do you remove rust stains from exposed concrete slabs and concrete tiles?
The exposed concrete slabs and the concrete tiles have a porous surface. Dirt and rust therefore penetrate deep into the material and can only be removed with an acidic household remedy. Citric acid, freshly squeezed lemon juice and soft drinks (preferably cola) are good for cleaning concrete. The same applies in this case: first test in an invisible area so that there are no unpleasant surprises.
Recipe for a cleaning product with citric acid: Pour 1 liter of water into a spray bottle, add 2-3 tablespoons of citric acid, shake and spray on the stains. Rub the home remedy into the tiles with a soft brush and then leave it to work for about half an hour. Only then clean the surface thoroughly with a brush and water and then wipe it with a damp sponge.
For a home remedy with lemon juice: dilute the lemon juice with water in a 1:1 ratio and rub the solution into the concrete tiles. After 30 minutes, you can rinse the surface with a pressure washer.
Alternatively, you can also clean the exposed concrete slabs with cola. Proceed similarly to the lemon juice. However, use the cola undiluted and rinse the surface really thoroughly so that it doesn't stick. It is best to use a pressure washer for this purpose.
Remove rust stains from marble tiles
The marble is popular for its elegant look. The marble tiles enhance the garden and the house. However, they are very delicate and you need to be very careful when cleaning them. Home remedies containing acid can damage the surface. You can only get rid of new stains with a solution of milk and water. Pour 500 ml of water into a bowl and add 200 ml of milk. Put 3-4 tablespoons of the milk solution on cotton balls and first apply it to an invisible area. In some cases the solution can discolor the marble, so it's worth testing its effect first. Then you can carefully dab the home remedy onto the stains without scrubbing and leave it to work for about 15 minutes. Then simply rinse with water. If that doesn't help, you can use a pH-neutral cleaner for marble.
Rust stains on tiles are not a pretty sight. Fortunately, these can be removed quickly. The rule of thumb is: the sooner you notice the stains, the better. It's worth checking the terrace, garden path and balcony for stains once a week.
