Set up a one-room apartment

If you have to furnish an apartment that has one room, it can be difficult. All the necessary rooms and the associated furniture must be accommodated in the smallest possible space. A small living room quickly becomes a bedroom and a kitchen at the same time. To provide you with some inspiration when furnishing your one-room apartment, we have put together a gallery of pictures from 5 apartments that you can use as furnishing tips.

This first apartment features monochrome décor including attractive plywood wall paneling. If you have oneOne-room apartmentIf you're setting up a room that doesn't have much space, it's important that you don't overdo the dark colors. This living room forms the basis for all the other space-saving measures in the rest of the apartment.

Decorative elements and a narrow partition for the television visually divide the room, which is a practical option when it comes to a one-room apartmentfurnishgoes. Here, the seating area, which also represents the living room, is equipped with a carpet, while the rest of the room is covered with laminate. The rug helps ensure that the seating area doesn't look too rigid and matches it with the rest of the room.

Another partition forms the dining area, which also accommodates a work area with plenty of storage space thanks to spacious shelving and cupboard systems. When setting up a one-room apartment, you also take the opportunity to add color. The color of the wood of the chairs matches the rest of the surfaces, while the seat shells create a contrast in green.

The interior is not only adorned by the green chairs. The pendant light by Seppo Koho is just as decorative. When setting up your one-room apartment, you shouldn't do without decorations. They make the small room even more homely and, above all, more stylish. With a little elegance, you won't even notice how small the room is.

The small kitchen was chosen to be very simple and modern. Contrasting colors such as beige and matt black were used. There is no seating in this area, which guarantees enough space to work in the kitchen. When designing your one-room apartment, you should keep this in mind. Don't overdo it with the furniture. In this case, less is more!

Although it is a one-room apartment, the apartment has a separate bedroom. This is formed by a built-in shelf, which also provides privacy, and a sliding glass door. The latter also guarantees sufficient daylight in the windowless room. You can use all of these ideas as inspiration. The colors of the kitchen and the rest of the interior design of the apartment are repeated.

Optical illusions can prove to be very useful when designing your studio apartment. This small bathroom, for example, appears more spacious thanks to the small, elongated tiles, which also allows the use of dark colors. The gaze is directed towards the ceiling. At the end of the room there is a spacious shower.

The dark colors are not only allowed in this bathroom, but also give the bathroom a certain elegance that makes the room appear luxurious. The indirect lighting behind the mirror certainly also makes a further contribution. Be careful when choosing the right color when furnishing your one-room apartment. Ultimately, you want an interior that exudes positive vibes.

Despite its small size, the apartment has a walk-in closet, which was also designed in matt black and beige. Sliding glass doors are installed for closure. In small apartments, sufficient storage space is usually the biggest problem. Be sure to integrate such where possible-

Another wardrobe, which also serves as a cloakroom, is located in the hallway. This is equipped with indirect lighting inside so that you can find everything at any time of the day. The large sliding mirror doors don't just have an aesthetic benefit. At the same time, they make the hallway appear visually larger.

The next apartment, which is a design by Lugerin Architects, is no less impressive. It is characterized by different textures that bring liveliness to the room, which is only 56 square meters in size. Materials used include brick, wood and concrete. You may want to use this type of room layout.

Take a look at the living room: a white wall is equipped with a lowboard, which plays the role of a wall unit, saving space. In order not to block the small wall too much, a projector was also used instead of a large television. All possible space-saving options should be considered.

The wooden panels are not wall paneling, as you might have thought. These are sliding doors that shield the bedroom and kitchen together with the white wall of the living room. Panels are actually a great idea.

The entire living room appears bright and friendly. Bright colors and lots of light are important when designing a small one-room apartment. A bright ambience makes the room appear larger. Add some color too, especially if you've otherwise chosen neutral tones. That looks beautifully lively.

Despite the clever layout of the living space, the bedroom is a fairly small room that had to accommodate not only a double bed but also a wardrobe. This cabinet is located directly behind the white wall you saw in the living room. Also pay attention to the type of cabinet as this could come in handy.

The wardrobe is neither too big nor too small. Since the bedroom would look very cluttered if the wardrobe would take up the entire wall, it was framed with an open shelf instead. This offers storage space for many books that would otherwise not find space in the small apartment. Avoid bulky furniture when furnishing a one-room apartment.

Clever storage space isn't just found in the bedroom. In addition to classic cupboards in a minimalist style, the small but practical kitchen also has some open cupboards in which jars with spices and other products are stored. This makes the kitchen appear more open. A depressing mood caused by many closed surfaces is avoided. You too can create some open designs.

The bathroom is at least as impressive as the rest of the apartment. Neutral and bright colors make you never want to leave the bathroom. However, the color accents were not forgotten here either. Here they are used in the form of a striped carpet. Use colors to lighten the atmosphere.

The natural colors are created by natural materials. In addition to wooden wall coverings, these are stone tiles with an impressive appearance. Again, pay attention to the use of the mirrors. Especially in a small bathroom, you shouldn't forget these when designing your one-room apartment after thorough planning.

A closed shower makes the room seem smaller because it takes up space. You can counteract this by choosing either an open or semi-open shower design or using a transparent glass wall. This can also be slightly tinted. In any case, this is a great solution to make small areas seem spacious.

Even more color was used in this example. Another difference is that no partitions were used to divide the individual areas. Not that the other apartments seem any less inviting. But this apartment has a certain charm with its openness, don't you think?

The friendly dining area is also immediately noticeable. Transparency in the form of an acrylic table provides visual space, while the Burgundy chairs add the finishing touch to the aesthetics. They were designed by the Brazilian designer Guilherme Wentz, who is responsible for the entire “La Central” collection. The chairs have the woven style of the Acapulco chairs. As with any other type of apartment, the choice of furniture is of great importance.

The classic designs are enhanced with accents of burgundy, yellow and sky blue, creating an overall stylish interior. The television area is used very effectively. Mounted on a rod, it can be rotated and adjusted in height and can therefore be used in both the sleeping and sitting areas.

The one-room apartment has large windows that fill it with lots of daylight. Simple, white walls and a light laminate floor give the room a stylish look. The idea of setting up a one-room apartment is perfect for bachelorettes or as a first apartment for couples, because there is absolutely nothing missing.

Traditional and modern elements are wonderfully combined in this apartment. If the modern design is too simple for you, you can combine rustic ideas with them, as was done here with wall paneling made of wooden boards combined with cabinets. The cabinets also serve as benches and lowboards.

The bed is well hidden behind a wooden wall. In this living room, the light wood is combined with gray and black walls. Simply great interior design ideas that you can implement. Pay attention to the decorative elements that were used here and there to decorate the rooms.

This variant is the exact opposite of the previous apartment. Chic furniture and surfaces make the apartment appear particularly elegant. In addition to striking contrasts, the furnishings also play with geometric patterns and motifs, which can be found in the floor and ceiling, among other things.

The white high-gloss floor chosen for the sleeping area is very striking. Also take a look at the bed. The bed box, headboard and shelf represent one and the same piece of furniture, which is also characterized by a high gloss. In this way, storage space is provided. Custom-made furniture is sometimes necessary and can prove particularly useful.

This attractive brass effect sliding door, which is divided into three parts, ensures privacy in the sleeping area. The impressive interior has a luxurious look, which is further emphasized by the ultra-modern furniture. A perfect idea for anyone who loves glamour.

The design of the ceiling is formed from hexagonal motifs. The lamps are also integrated into this design for furnishing a one-room apartment. Opposite the windows, a large mirror wall creates a visually larger space, while also reflecting the light. Sliding doors like those in the bedroom can also be found in front of the wall unit. When closed, these create a more minimalist look.
