Chocolate temptation with fir tree puff pastry - this is how it's done:
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and line a baking tray with baking paper. Then cut the two sheets of puff pastry into triangles, i.e. in the shape of Christmas trees. Then spread the Nutella on one of the two triangles and place the other sheet on top. Transfer the whole thing to the baking tray. Then design the fir branches by cutting both sides at 2 cm intervals. Leave the middle intact to create a strip from top to bottom (the tree trunk). For the lower trunk, either remove one or two of the side strips or cut a separate strip that you then place at the bottom. Then twist the side strips of the Christmas tree puff pastry that you have created in twice each.
Then cut out two stars from the remaining dough (free hand, with a template or with a cookie cutter), then spread one with Nutella and cover it with the other. Place the finished star on the top of the tree. Whisk the egg yolk with a little water and brush the top of the puff pastry with it.
