Ingredients

  • Circa 2 kg Salatgurken
  • 25 grams of salt
  • Fresh dill
  • 500 ml water
  • 220 ml vinegar
  • 230 grams of sugar
  • 10 grams of salt
  • 6 mason jars

preparation

  • Sterilize jars and lids in boiling water and place upside down on a clean cloth.
  • For the stock, add water, sugar, vinegar and salt to a saucepan and bring to the boil.
  • Cut the cucumbers into slices that are not too thin using a slicer or a sharp knife and sprinkle with salt.
  • Let it sit for about 40 minutes and pat the cucumber slices dry with kitchen paper.
  • Layer cucumber slices in the jars.
  • Chop the dill finely and add it to the cucumbers.
  • Pour the hot broth over the cucumbers and close them with the lids.
  • Preheat the oven to 100 degrees and cook the jars in it for 30 minutes.
