Make your own dandelion jelly: The best recipe for healthy flower jelly in a jar!

For me, fragrant hot herbs are very special plants that are always used in the kitchen. Today I'll explain to you how you can make dandelion jelly yourself - and why my favorite recipe has a fruity note.

Make your own dandelion jelly: The flower jelly has many uses in the kitchen

What makes dandelions so healthy? The combination of valuable vitamins, proteins and micronutrients makes the medicinal herb a real vitamin bomb. The flowers are easy to process and have various uses in my kitchen. Especially in spring, when I'm busy picking dandelions in my garden (I always try to leave as many plants as possible, but sometimes they just spread too much and crowd out other useful plants), I look forward to dandelion jelly. As a spread, with pancakes, with Greek yogurt or simply with cake –the flower jellyI always like to eat. However, I only use plants that grow in my garden. The flowers must not be treated with pesticides or organic products. It is also important that the flowers do not grow directly on the fence, where dogs and cats can reach them.

Make your own dandelion jelly: the recipe

1. Separate the yellow flowers from the green calyxes, weigh 200 g, place in a sieve and rinse well under running water.

2. Wash, clean and chop the orange. Place the fruit pieces in a pan and add the flowers. Pour water over the fruits and flowers and bring to the boil briefly. Then reduce the heat and simmer for about 1 hour. Remove the pot from the heat and place the orange blossom mixture in cheesecloth and let it drain overnight. Be sure to collect and store the liquid in a clean bowl!

3. The next morning, pour the liquid into a deep pot, add sugar and slowly bring to the boil. Then reduce the heat and simmer for 30-40 minutes until the dandelion jelly thickens.

4. Fill the hot flower jelly into sterilized screw-top jars.
