Muesli bars are the perfect snack between meals, but are also great as a light breakfast. And the best way to be sure that they are healthy is to prepare them yourself. It's really quick and easy. How do you make your own muesli bars?
You can make muesli bars with or without baking. A basic ingredient isoatmeal, which you can also replace with other types of grain. Cornflakes are often used for this purpose. The ingredients are held together by butter and syrup, the latter of which also serves to sweeten the bars.
How to store?
To ensure that the muesli bars have a long enough shelf life, it is best to pack them in an airtight container. This prevents them from drying out. Use cans or containers like Tupperware that come with a lid. This way you can also keep them out of the fridge for a few days.
Recipe: Make your own muesli bars with amaranth
– 1 cup softened amaranth
– 1/4 cup oatmeal
– 1/4 cup raisins
– 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
– 1 tbsp sunflower seeds
– 1 THE Leinsamen
– 1 THE Sesamsamen
– 2 tbsp blanched almond slivers
– 1/4 Cups Almond Butter
– 1/4 cup brown rice syrup or barley malt
You make this recipe in three steps. First toast the oats, almonds and then the seeds in a pan over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes each. Melt the butter and syrup. Put the dry ingredients with the amaranth in a bowl and add the butter-syrup mixture. Spread the mixture in an ovenproof glass baking dish (approx. 28 x 17 cm) and set aside for 20 to 30 minutes. Cut into pieces of any size.
Recipe with applesauce, quark and coconut oil
– 45 g brown rice flakes
– 100 g Getreide
– 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
– 1 teaspoon coconut oil or unsalted butter
– 126 g unsweetened applesauce
– 60 g Greek yogurt
– 2 EL Honig
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 60 g apple in very small cubes
You get a touch of traditional apple pie when you make your own apple muesli bars. To do this, first preheat the oven to 150 degrees and grease a tray (approx. 22 x 22 cm). Mix the first three dry ingredients and in a separate bowl the coconut oil and applesauce. Add the quark, honey and salt and then the grain mixture. The apple pieces are still missing. Simply stir these in. After spreading the mixture on the baking tray, bake everything for 14 to 17 minutes. Once cooled, cut into bars or squares.
Chia muesli bars with almonds
– 1 cup oatmeal
– 1/2 cup almond butter
– 1 tablespoon maple syrup
– 1/4 cup flax seeds
– 1 cup of berries
– 4 THE Chiasamen
Grind the oat flakes in a blender and mix this flour with the almond butter, syrup and flax seeds. Spread the mixture evenly on a baking pan and place it in the refrigerator. In the meantime, process the berries into a puree and stir in the chia seeds. Let them rise for 10 to 15 minutes. Spread this “jam” on the oatmeal base and spread the chocolate liquefied in a water bath. After an hour in the fridge, the bars can be eaten.
Make your own healthy banana bars
– 1 cup oatmeal
– 1/2 uncooked quinoa
– 2 THE Chiasamen
– 1/4 tsp salt
– 1 tsp cinnamon
– 2 ripe, pureed bananas
– 1/2 TL Vanillextrakt
– 1/4 cup coarsely chopped almonds
– 1/4 cup crushed pecans
– 1/3 Taxesdried fruits(e.g. raisins or cranberries)
– 1/4 Cups Almond Butter
– 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. In the meantime, place baking paper on a baking tray (20 x 20 cm). You can make your own banana muesli bars in the following way: Mix the oat flakes, quinoa, chia seeds, salt and cinnamon in a bowl. Stir in the bananas and vanilla extract and then the nuts and fruit. In a small pan, melt butter and honey (maple syrup) on the stove, stirring constantly. Mix this with the remaining muesli mix, spread everything on the tray and bake for 25 minutes. Then let the muesli cool and cut it into 10 equal bars.
Sugar free cranberry recipe
– 1 1/4 cup grains
– 1/4 cup bran
– 1 THE Leinsamen
– 1 THE Chiasamen
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 1/2 cup dried cranberries
– 1/2 cup crushed almonds
– 2 EL Butter
– 1/4 Cups Almond Butter
– 1/4 cup maple syrup
– 1 TL for Van
Preheat the oven to 160 degrees and line a baking tray (20 x 20 cm) with baking paper. Mix the grains, bran, salt, flax seeds, chia seeds, cranberries and almonds and add melted butter, maple syrup and almond butter and vanilla. Spread the finished mixture on the tray and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. When cool, cut into bars.
Peanut butter bars with granola
– 1 1/2 cups pitted dates
– 1/2 cup peanut butter
– 1/2 cup oatmeal
It's particularly easy to make these peanut butter muesli bars yourself, as only three ingredients are needed. The dates are soaked in warm water for 10 minutes in advance and then pureed in a suitable blender. Add the peanut butter and oat flakes and mix everything together well. Spread the finished mixture on a baking tray and place it in the refrigerator until the mixture solidifies. Then cut them into bars.

– 1/4 cup honey, maple syrup or agave syrup
– 1/4 Cups Almond Butter
– 3/4 cup any raw nuts
– 1 1/2 cups oatmeal
– 1/4 cup dark or dark chocolate
Use this simple recipe: In a blender, process the dates into a puree. Mix it in a large bowl with the oat flakes, nuts and chocolate pieces. Melt butter and honey and add them to the dry ingredients. Spread the mixture evenly on a baking tray (20 x 20 cm) lined with baking paper and place in the freezer for 15 minutes, after which you can cut it into bars.
Blueberries and puffed rice with glaze
– 2 cups of oatmeal
– 1 1/2 cup puffed rice
– 1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
– 1/4 cup roasted, chopped almonds
– 1 THE Chiasamen
– 1/4 tsp salt
– 1/2 cup peanut or almond butter
– 1/2 cup honey
– 1 1/2 TL for Van
– 1 cup fresh or 3/4 cup dried blueberries
– 1 tbsp water
– 1 TL Vanilleextrakt
– 1/2 TL Gelatine
– 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
– 1 EL Honig
– 1 pinch of salt
– 2 cups powdered sugar
If you use fresh blueberries, they must be roasted in the oven at 175 degrees for 30 minutes. While they are cooling, combine the grains, puffed rice, coconut flakes, almonds, chia seeds and salt while melting the butter and honey (in a double boiler, in a pan or in the microwave). Add the butter mixture to the dry ingredients and mix. Spread the mixture on a baking tray approximately 23 x 33 cm in size and place in the freezer for an hour.
In the meantime you can prepare the topping. Mix water and vanilla and add the gelatine. Stir until the gelatin dissolves and set aside. In a separate bowl, mix honey, yogurt and salt. This mixture must be warmed in the microwave (approx. 30 seconds), but must not come to the boil. Add the gelatin to the warm yogurt. Once everything is well mixed together, add the powdered sugar and mix it in well, preferably with a mixer. Dip the bars into the topping.
