Recipes with 3 ingredients always sound like an unreal dream, but you can conjure up really great treats even with just a few ingredients, as the following recipe will prove to you. This is what you need if you want to prepare Parmesan rolls:
For 12 rolls:
- 250 g self-raising flour*
- 240 g yoghurt, preferably reduced fat (Greek yoghurt is less recommended)
- 100 g Parmesan
Preheat the oven to 175 degrees and line a baking tray with baking paper. Mix the flour and yoghurt together in a bowl, but don't over-mix or the rolls will become tough. Finally, lift itgrated Parmesanunder. You will end up with a sticky dough, which is best formed into small portions using a spatula and moistened hands and distributed on the tray.
Make sure there is a space of about 5 cm between the Parmesan rolls so that they can rise well. Then bake them in the oven for about 22 minutes or until they turn golden in color. Before serving, let them cool on the tray for a while. The delicious rolls are ready, completely without yeast!
*Tipp: If you want to bake these rolls more often, you can also make self-raising flour in advance by mixing 150 g flour, 1½ teaspoon baking powder, ¼ teaspoon baking soda and ½ teaspoon salt (you can adjust the quantities to your needs). Store in a cool and dry place!
Add ingredients – You can add these to the dough
If you want, you can give the Parmesan rolls even more pizzazz by adding any spices you like. In principle, anything you like is allowed. Here are a few suggestions:
- Replace half of the parmesan with cheddar for the flavor of the infamous Brazilian cheese bread.
- Season with garlic powder or onion powder.
- Dry herbs such as rosemary or basil provide a Mediterranean taste.
