Sweet puff pastry bites filled with strawberries
Jam, cream and fresh strawberries fill these little puff pastry desserts. They are cute, easy and very delicious!
Ingredients
- 400g puff pastry
- 400g strawberries, cut into small pieces or slices
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 300 g strawberry jam (optional)
- 100g whipped cream
- powdered sugar
preparation
1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and defrost the puff pastry if it was in the freezer.
2. Prepare your work surface by sprinkling it with a little flour. A thin layer is sufficient. Put some on a rolling pin to successfully roll out the puff pastry.
3. Roll out the puff pastry into a sheet. Using a pizza wheel, knife or pastry wheel, cut the dough into equal-sized squares. Of course, the sweet morsels can also be round.
4. Place your bites on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake for 10-15 minutes or until the pastry turns a golden brown color. Remove them from the oven and let them cool completely.
5. Cut the strawberries into slices and add them to the sugar. Let them steep for about 20 minutes. The sugar makes the fruit a little softer. If you like, you can also add a squeeze of lemon or orange juice.
6. Then you can heat up some strawberry jam in the microwave and mix the strawberries with the heated jam in a bowl. Put a little on each morsel.
7. Finally, you can add a dollop of whipped cream and dust with powdered sugar.

Prepare the triangular apple turnovers:
1. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Whisk an egg with a splash of milk.
2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface (or a silicone dough mat). Divide them into four equal squares. Lightly brush edges of each square with egg; If the dough becomes too warm and difficult to work with, chill for 10 minutes.
3. Then make a well in the middle and add 1 - 2 teaspoons of filling. Make sure that no filling comes to the edge.
4. Turn the puff pastry into a triangle shape by folding one corner over the filling and then the other corner over the top. To ensure a tight seal, press the edges with your finger and then crimp with a fork.
