Make your own sushi – quick recipe for beginners

Would you like to make your own sushi? We are happy to help with a simple recipe. For this recipe you will need a bamboo mat. Otherwise you will need the following ingredients (these products will be enough for dinner for two):

– 1 cup sushi rice /you can optionally replace with Nishiki rice/

– Nori sheets

– Packet of surimi /imitation crab meat/

– 2 THE Mayonnaise

– 1 Avocado

– 1 cucumber

– Sesame /roasted/

- Wassabi

– Soy sauce

And this is how sushi is prepared:

Follow the instructions on the package and first cook the rice in the water. The finished rice is slightly sticky. While the rice is cooking, you canthe imitation crab meatMix with the 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise.

So first mix surimi with mayonnaise - stir the mixture well and leave it in the fridge.

Now comes the time to deseed the cucumber and avocado and then cut them into thin sticks. In the meantime the rice should be ready. Wait 15-20 minutes until the rice is no longer hot. Sushi is prepared with warm/cold rice.

Now you have to spread the rice on the nori sheet and press it carefully with your hand. Cover 3/4 of the nori sheet with rice, leaving only one edge /see photo above/ uncovered. Scatter susami over the rice. Then first sprinkle surimi and then cucumber and avocado. At the end with great attentionNori sheet and fillingPlace on the bamboo mat and roll up.

Our tip – press firmly when rolling so that the sushi rolls don’t fall apart when cutting! The sushi rolls are served with wasabi and soy sauce. Attached you will find two videos with recipes. We wish you bon appetite!
