Land Rover Defender 110 by Kahn Design – A monstrous off-road vehicle with 6 x 6 wheel drive

The new Land Rover Defender 110 is called the Flying Huntsman Civilian Carrier and has nine seats. This allows you to transport an entire army group. The off-road vehicle is 5.1 meters long and is therefore equivalent to a Rolls-Royce limousine. An additional rear axle with two more wheels also means that this vehicle can go where you want it to. Kahn Design manufactures the off-road vehicle to order with a 2.2-liter diesel engine. The vehicle is aimed at everyone who is inspired by such a monster and, above all, can afford it.

There are only so many customizations you can put into a vehicle before it becomes something completely different. When it comes to classic SUVs, Kahn Design has made an art of following this line. They add lots of new details to their offerings without losing the spirit of driving pleasure. That's exactly the case with this 2018the model 110Flying Huntsman 6 × 6.

With one look at the front, you can immediately see that it is unmistakably a model from the popular car manufacturer. More than a cursory glance and you'll notice that it's slightly larger than the brand's usual models. This is because it is a legendary Flying Huntsman powered by a 2.2 TDCi diesel engine. It's not particularly fast, but it's powerful enough to take you and up to nine other passengers anywhere.

This particular example also offers all-wheel drive, electronic traction control, anti-lock brakes, onboard satellite navigation and much more from Kahn. The best part is that you can get this monolithic luxury off-roader for a reasonable price. Afzal Kahn and his team spent thousands of hours of research and development with a team of over 40 experienced automotive designers, engineers and craftsmen to create a vehicle that celebrates the history and unique personality of the Defender.

Improved version with innovative technology

Around 880mm longer than a standard Defender and 150mm wider, the Civilian 6X6 features a comprehensive range of mechanical and styling improvements that give the vehicle a striking look and improved performance. The team has also combined traditional techniques and expert craftsmanship to create a modern icon. Thus, the designers offer a striking and aggressive vehicle that was inspired by Kahn's popular Chelsea Truck Company Defenders.

In addition to the additional length and mechanical improvements, the team has improved the modern design quite a bit. Thanks to a new styling package consisting of a Volcanic Rock color change, front wings with integrated vents and wide rear wings made from lightweight composite material, the Land Rover Defender looks much better with its grille and headlight surrounds.

Furthermore, the car features a full panoramic roof that extends rearward from the B-pillars, as well as a front bumper with Tron ring light. The Shadow Chrome headlights also give the vehicle an aggressive look that matches its stretched, six-wheeled silhouette. As part of the transformation, the team also added a third axle, which is a two front wheel, four rear wheel configuration.

The additional axle is pneumatically actuated, while a custom differential allows the driver to direct power to all six wheels for maximum traction. If you're really worried about getting stuck, shift the transfer case to low range and lock the differentials to crawl out of even the most difficult situations. Chelsea Truck Company doesn't provide engine details, but interior shots show a six-speed manual transmission with an almost comically large shifter in the cab.
