In order to bring a fresh touch and variety into private spaces, bloggers around the world present imaginative ideas that you can realize yourself at an affordable price. You usually strive for a special atmosphere and individual touch in the bedroom and home office, because that's where you come to yourself. With the help of three selected DIY projects, you can make affordable and individual wall decorations yourself.
For the first two DIY projects you will need small circles made of glossy paper or self-adhesive foil in gold. Choose the size of the circles depending on the area you want to cover. You are welcome to use other geometric figures or even hearts. You can either get them ready-made from a craft store or punch them out yourself from suitable paper. The gold color is also not a must, so choose any color yourself.
For the first imaginative wall decoration you need a pin in the same color as the punched out figures. Use a cutting knife to cut a rectangular frame out of Styrofoam of any thickness. You will later have it hanging over your workplace, for example, so adjust the dimensions accordingly. Then self-adhesive foil, in our example in gold, with which you cover the Styrofoam frame.
Before you fix the circles on the frame, imagine how many you would actually need and how many would cover a row. Then you can simply pin the circles into the Styrofoam using the pins.
The strength of the Styrofoam should be sufficient so that the pin does not come all the way through.
The end result resembles golden, shimmering fish scales and the chic frame is sure to be the eye-catcher in the room. The bloggers aus Classy Cutterhung the frame over the desk and inside it says 'Inspiration'.
It would look even nicer if you coordinated the decorative elements in the room or apartment in terms of color and style. The golden color is particularly dominant, which is why it is combined with white and can be found in other design accents, such as table and chair legs.
For the next 'golden' wall decoration you would need the same dots or circles again. This time you will punch it out of self-adhesive foil, which will make your craft work much easier. The exact number of them is not mentioned, everything is left to your imagination.
Stick the dots on the wall and press on them so that the film sticks well to the wall surface from all sides. You can use a plastic card or bank card as an aid, which will be helpful for precise work.
Arrange the golden circles chaotically or concentrated on one corner of the wall as desired. This will appear as if shimmering confetti is being scattered across the wall.
The empty, white picture frames alone are also a good idea for affordable wall decoration that you can make yourself. It is advisable to choose vintage style ones with magnificent decorations that you paint in white. You are sure to find some rarities without a glass pane or with certain defects at the flea market at a reasonable price.
The last do-it-yourself idea imitates fish scales, but only according to the pattern and arrangement of the fragments. First, consider how large the pattern or grid should be, of course depending on the scale of the wall you want to decorate. Create a stencil of a fish scale and create an attractive pattern on the wall.
When arranging the pattern, it is better to start from the design center. In the example it is a wall behind the bed in the bedroom, which is why the pattern starts from the headboard, from the point where it has the greatest visibility.
Cut out 'fish scales' from wooden paper using the template. You can find it in the craft store or alternatively use something else depending on your preference. Use a sharp cutting knife to cut out the fish scales and, if necessary, sand the edges a bit for a finishing touch.
Fix the wood-look fish scales using double-sided adhesive tape. It is better to use mounting tape, which will definitely last longer. Glue the decorative pieces in place and press firmly to make them stick.
Depending on the situation, you can leave some areas free or fill them with color. You can of course recreate the same pattern using other materials or later replace the fish scales with others in color. Alternatively, decorate only part of the wall and leave the rest free, only with contours.
Light colors are more popular in the bedroom, as they create a fresh, cheerful atmosphere and appear relaxed. When decorating the room, it is advisable to choose colors and shapes that can be found in other elements. This creates a harmonious overall picture that appears uniform and not confused.
