The upcoming Lent takes 40 days and goes to Easter. In earlier times, this phase of memory of the Lent of Jesus served in the desert. Meat was dispensed with. Nowadays, many people use this phase even without a religious background, simply to clean up mind and body, whereby they do without luxury foods or even digital devices - as a sign of self -discipline. Either way, you can use greetings from Ash Wednesday to officially compete for these 40 days.
The tradition with the ash crowd
In Catholic faith it is common for believers to get a cross on their foreheads at the service with ashes. This ashes comes from palm branches that were burned the previous year and symbolizes the transience and penance. During the ritual, the priest says the words: "Remember, man that you are dust and will return to the dust."
The funny side of this special Wednesday
Maybe you've heard the term “hangover Wednesday”? Well, that means exactly this. After the extensive celebration, some feel drained. If you are lucky enough to get free, do something for your body, relax and maybe also to prepare for Lent: Drink a lot of water and tea, sleep well and prefer to eat easily digestible food. And while you enjoy relaxation, you can send some of our greetings to your friends and relatives on Ash Wednesday.
