Do your own eyelash lift and promote growth for beautifully shaped eyelashes

One of the newest and currently most popular beauty trends is eyelash lifting, also known as lash lift or lash lifting. Maybe you've heard of it before, but don't know what it is exactly? Basically, the idea is to get curled eyelashes to enhance natural beauty. The use of mascara is no longer absolutely necessary after this (but can still be used for reinforcement) and you can banish the eyelash curler into the closet entirely. On the one hand, you can have your eyelashes curled in a beauty salon, but this can be expensive in the long run. Another option would be to take matters into your own hands. We will explain to you exactly how professional eyelash lifting works and how you can do the eyelash lifting yourself using natural means.

Eyelash lifting – what is it?

We have already mentioned that the lash lifting of the eyelashes involves bending. But what is lifting, how does it work and what exactly is done in the beauty salon to “lift”, shape and bend the eyelashes? In principle, this is quickly explained: After thoroughly cleaning the eye area to remove any remaining make-up or grease, the lower eyelashes are first covered so that they do not accidentally stick to the upper lash line during the procedure.

A silicone pad is then fixed on the eyelid directly above the upper lash line. A special adhesive is then applied to this pad, which has the following function: The eyelashes are now combed smoothly upwards with a brush and should remain stuck to the pad in order to maintain this smooth shape. To ensure that the straightened eyelashes stay that way, the next step is to apply a serum to the tips to fix them. After 10 minutes, a second solution is added that has the same function, namely to fix the eyelashes.

If you want, you can now also have your eyelashes colored to emphasize them. Whether with or without dyeing, the solution has to take effect for a while and is then removed, whereupon the silicone pad is also removed with simple water. This entire procedure takes between 45 and 90 minutes. Prices may vary. Depending on the growth time, which is individual for each individual, the eyelash lift can last between 6 and 8 weeks. So it grows out like a perm.

Use an eyelash curler at the base as usual and be amazed at the results! And if you want something particularly dramatic, you can also apply one or two coats of mascara afterwards.

Alternatively, you can use a simple ear swab. Yes, you read that right. To do this, heat the stick a little with a lighter. Don't get too close to the stick so that the plastic doesn't melt. Then wait a moment and let the cotton swab cool down a little. Now stroke it over your eyelashes several times like you would with mascara until you are satisfied with the result. A hairdryer can also be used if you don't have a lighter on hand. You can use it to either heat the stick or blow-dry your eyelashes directly while curling them upwards.

Danger! If you would like to do the eyelash lift yourself, you should keep in mind that this heat treatment is not recommended for everyday use and should only be chosen in exceptional cases. Like the hair on the head, the eyelashes are sensitive to heat. Since these are very thin and fine hairs, they are even more sensitive. If treated too often, the eyelashes can break or even fall out.
