The architects from LIAG Architects have designed a sustainable villa in the Netherlands that impresses with a modern design and great functionality. The flat roof house design consists of a precisely defined frame with wooden cladding made of cedar wood. The kitchen and the swimming pool form two volumes that protrude from the frame and contribute to the modern design of the villa.
The sustainable villa is located in the municipality of Weert, Limburg province and is built directly on the canal. On the street side of the house is the kitchen, which is designed in one of the outstanding volumes. Right next to it, the façade takes a step back to create a patio area overlooking the ever-busy canal.
DieprojectionThe rear part of the house is a little longer because it contains the indoor swimming pool. The two projections are glazed and offer beautiful views of the outdoor area. A modern floating staircase connects the garden to the terrace and pool area. The terrace is separated from the living area by high-quality sliding glass doors and serves as an extension of the living room.
The interior design of the villa uses movable wall cabinets that serve as room dividers and offer many options for redesigning the interior. The flat roof house is equipped with a garage under the main floor to make parking convenient and safe. There is also a home cinema, a cellar with storage space and a guest room in the basement. The house is considered environmentally friendly as it is equipped with 78 solar panels on the roof to ensure a sustainable energy supply.
