Astrid Till House is an eco-friendly house located in Singapore. It represents a reinterpretation of China's traditional houses and was designed by Tsao and Mc Known Architects. It was completed in 2015. The Bio Solar House is characterized by a division into three areas, which is intended to benefit the family. On the one hand there is the living area and on the other hand there is the office area and those that are used for entertainment. These individual areas are connected to each other by a two-story forecourt. Each of the areas is designed independently of the others. This means that they can be taken out of operation if necessary in order to save energy.
Both the garden and many of the interior areas wonderfully complement the tropical landscape that surrounds the Bio Solar House. In this way the passive house is made outConcretethis perfectly adapted. The construction volume and the distribution of the windows were thought out and implemented in such a way as to avoid heat in the interior spaces in summer. Green roofs and vertical gardens on the house facade guarantee natural and environmentally friendly cooling of the interior spaces, while rainwater is collected and can be used for household purposes.
Natural light is also guaranteed in the Bio Solar House. As light sourcesWindows in the roof allow daylight to flow into the room. In this way, the use of artificial light during the day is reduced. The wonderful garden has more than just a decorative feature. There is also a small vegetable garden there and is sufficient to provide the family with fresh vegetables.
The Bio Solar House consists of one both inside and outsideCombination of wood and concrete, giving it a modern look. Wooden boards decorate the interior walls, especially in the form of wall cladding, but also the floor of the terrace, while concrete is used as floor covering inside and for exterior facades.
