This rural house is located in India and more specifically in Raigad. The Indian company Krishnan+Parvez+Architects is responsible for the design. ThisVilla Designis the perfect retreat if you want to spend the weekend in a quiet, scenic setting. The modern house was designed in a minimalist style, but still retains many colorful accents, as is typical of Indian culture.
Villa design in spacious living room
The villa design also consists of large spaces characterized by natural stone and large windows. The latter not only give the interior a lot of brightness, but also provide it with lots of fresh, rural air. Since the property itself is not very large, every free space with an opening to the house was used to form a terrace.
Villa design in the bedroom with yellow accents
The house is divided into two floors. In the first there is the living room, the kitchen, the dining room, a storage room and two guest rooms. The private bedrooms are again on the second floor. For the villa design in the bedrooms were asDecorative panelsdecorated with oriental patterns. These provide interesting and calming lighting effects. In order to bring nature into the house, natural materials were used for the villa design. This includesBrick, lime plaster and cement mosaic made locally. The brown stone in particular gives the rooms a natural look.
Bedroom design of the villa in orange
A floor covering made of real stone was chosen for the villa design of the living room. This also goes perfectly with the warm, brown wall color. This combination is possible thanks to the large windows and the wall made of light bricks, which avoids a dark, unpleasant atmosphere. Colorful decorative pillows and pictures serve as additional items to create a cheerful atmosphere. What is particularly effective is that the living room consists of two levels. The steps that connect these two levels also conveniently serve as a base for the sofa. This makes practical use of an otherwise “dead” area.
Design idea with panels instead of windows
For the villa design of the bedrooms, wood was used as flooring instead of stone. Again, the abundance of light allows the use of dark colors. The wooden bed frame fits perfectly with the parquet and is wonderfully highlighted by a bright and warm orange for the pillows and the bedspread. The frame also offers the option of creating a four-poster bed with a canopy. The effective wall design behind the bed is also cheerful. This consists of Indian motifs, including an elephant as one of the symbols of India. The panels are fixed in the middle of the ceiling and floor and can be opened or closed if necessary by rotating them around their own axis. Depending on the position of the sun, great lighting effects are created in the room. At the same time, you can access a small balcony, which in turn offers a great view of the natural surroundings.
Wooden design in the bedrooms
All in all, we think this villa design is perfect for weekend relaxation, but also for a permanent stay. It emphasizes the location of the house in the middle of nature with its choice of colors and materials, which all together create a wonderful atmosphere. Therefore, it guarantees complete relaxation at all times, both indoors and outdoors. We have provided more photos of the villa design for you below. Get inspired!
