NumerousDiet trickspromise the loss of the annoying pounds. Pillers, work outs and powder should help the desired figure in record time. But the quick success is not only unreachable, but often even unhealthy.
"Many diets promise long-term weight loss, but only lead to the dreaded yo-yo effect," explains Jan Bahmann. The fitness consultant has already supported over 700 people on the way to the feel -good weight and, in the following, releases seven myths for losing weight, which have been shown to work.
According to the acceptance coach: 7 diet myths that are guaranteed not to be successful
Myth No. 1: Diet pills help you lose weight
There is an abundance of diet products on the market such as apple cider vinegar, fat-path teas and plant extracts. However, only prescription drugs have a demonstrable effect on the body weight. However, these drugs can have many side effects and should only be taken under medical supervision. In contrast, freely selling preparations are not harmful, but do not achieve a significant effect on body weight.
Myth No. 2: If you want to lose weight, you have to drink eight glasses of water every day
It is undoubtedly a good idea to replace calorie -rich juices and lemonades with water in order to promote healthier fluid intake. However, the fluid requirement of a person cannot be generalized and depends on various factors. It is therefore important that everyone determines their individual fluid needs. It also has no influence on the metabolism or fat loss if you drink more water than necessary.
Myth No. 3: Detox diets ensure fat loss
It is never a good idea to rely on strict bans when losing weight, as this can often lead to malnutrition. Many-Diets are based on such prohibitions and can actually damage more than benefits. The basic idea behind detox diets is based on the wrong assumption that the liver and kidneys need help to excrete toxins. In reality, however, the liver and kidneys are very effective in freeing the body of toxins, and usually do not require any additional help from special diets.
Myth No. 4: Vollkorn makes slim
It is true that whole grain products contain more fiber and micronutrients compared to other grain products. However, they usually have a calorie density similar to their non-fully-grained counterparts. Whole grain products can help increase the feeling of satiety and thus contribute to the control of eating behavior. However, one should not expect that whole grain products can help alone to lose weight because the effect on body weight is minimal. A balanced diet and regular physical activity are still the most important factors for successful weight reduction.
Myth No. 5: The keto diet is good
The keto diet is an extreme form of low-carb diet, in which nutrient-rich foods such as grain and fruit are completely excluded from the nutrition plan. This can lead to a quick weight loss at short notice, but there is a risk that the lost pounds will quickly come back if you return to the old diet.
Myth No. 6: No carbohydrates before going to bed
The erroneous belief is often represented that carbohydrates that are consumed before going to bed lead to weight gain due to the slower metabolism during sleep. In fact, the sleeping metabolism in slim people is even higher than the resting metabolism during the day, while it tends to be slower in overweight people. Therefore, the evening waiver of carbohydrates should be considered individually and is not necessary for everyone.
Myth No. 7: Start the day with a good breakfast
Finally, it is often claimed that a rich breakfast accelerates the rest of rest for the whole day. However, a study has shown that there was no difference in resting between test groups with and without breakfast. Therefore, it is best to follow your own preferences when deciding for or against breakfast.
