Ingenious, cheap & delicious: quick recipe for tarte flambée toast

After a tiring day at the office, who wants to spend a long time in the kitchen cooking a tasty dinner? We assume: very few. Of course, there is no question that there should still be something delicious to eat.
But it has to be quick, it has to be uncomplicated, and if you don't need too many ingredients, that would be great! Okay, we understand and are serving you these delicious onesTarte flambée toasts.
In this way we are simply reinterpreting the Alsatian tarte flambée. The advantage: You don't have to knead and roll out a tarte flambée dough first. On the contrary, a few slices of toast serve as a base. Nothing is kneaded and nothing is rolled; the toppings are added straight away.
The typical taste of the French classic is still retained thanks to traditional ingredients for the topping. So you can look forward to a spicy combination of smoky bacon, aromatic cheese and spicy onions.
Tarte flambée toast: Alsatian classic with a twist
Of course, the short preparation time is unbeatable. You just stand in the kitchen for ten minutes and the oven takes care of the rest. That means: Your only job is to chop onions and mix all the ingredients together.
Then just spread the creamy bread topping on the slices of toast and put it in the oven! When the smell of toasted toast mixes with the spicy smell of the toppings, you can hardly wait to take the loaves out of the oven and bite into them! Well, are you interested? You need these ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 onion
- 200 g Crème fraîche
- 20 ml whipped cream
- 80 g diced ham
- 150 g cheese (grated)
- Salt and pepper
- 8 slices of toast bread
- Chives (for garnish)
And this is how the preparation works:
1. Preheat the oven(200 degrees top/bottom heat). Peel the onion and chop it into fine cubes. Then mix the onion cubes with the crème fraîche, cream, ham and 75 g of cheese. Salt and pepper.
2. Place the toast bread slices on a tray lined with baking paper and distribute the mixed mixture evenly over all slices. Now sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and the toasts15 minutesbake.
Tipp:The delicious snack is even quicker in the hot air fryer. Bake the filled toast slices at 180 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
3. Take the tarte flambée toasts out of the oven, cut the chives into rolls and sprinkle over them and enjoy while still warm.
