Your trash can stinks or is not exactly clean? Then you should definitely clean it. How, we'll reveal here.
A garbage can can quickly develop unpleasant smells and should be cleaned regularly. Household waste in particular is often forgotten when cleaning, even though the trash can offers an ideal breeding ground for bacteria and germs.
We have a simple step-by-step instructions for you so that your trash can is quickly clean again.
Reading tip:
Clean the trash can step by step
Step 1:First you should empty your trash can before cleaning it. To protect against bacteria, you should also wear gloves. Also a mouth-nose protection can make sense.
Step 2:Now knock out the remains and roughly rinse the bucket. You can do that outside with the garden hose or in the shower.
Step 3:Now it is up to rough dirt that you can remove with a brush. Depending on the crust, you should use a scrapen to avoid scratches on the surface of the trash can.
Tipp:If you don't have a scraper, you can simply use an old check card. This means that you can effectively remove incrustations without damaging or scratching the trash can.
Step 4:Now you can wash the trash can with detergent and hot water and wipe it clean with a sponge.
A notice:You shouldn't forget the lid of the trash can. Because here, too, germs can accumulate.

Step 5:In order to neutralize smells and kill bacteria, vinegar water is suitable. Mix either household vinegar with water in a ratio of 1: 1 or vinegar essence and water in a ratio of 1:10 (alternatively also possible with citric acid) and spray the mixture into the dry garbage can.
You can also put a teaspoon of soda in the moist ton, rub it in and then wash out. Of course, you can also spray the trash can with disinfectant.
Step 6:Finally, you should let the trash can dry well. To avoid gross dirt from the outset, you should always use a garbage bag. You can also lay newspaper on the bottom of the garbage can.
It is best to remove dirt with every emptying so that there is no rough pollution.
You can shower the garbage can outside with the garden hose and spray vinegar water.
