Fold wrapping paper into a bag
Make a gift bag from leftover wrapping paperGifts with unusual shapesto pack.
- If you would like to fold a bag out of wrapping paper, first cut a piece of wrapping paper to the required width and height.
- Fold the two long sides inwards so that they overlap slightly in the middle.
- Tape the two sides together with tape.
- Fold the bottom side up. This part will be the floor, so estimate how wide you want it to be.
- Now fold this part as shown in the picture by first letting the part you just folded stick up and then pressing the right and left sides inwards. This creates peaks that point up and down.
- Now fold these tips inwards and secure them with adhesive tape.
- Open the bag you receive as you would do with purchased gift bags.
- You now have the choice: Either you shorten the bag if it is too long for you and get an open bag, or you put the gift inside and simply fold the top part over to the desired height.
- Punch holes in the bag slightly below the top edge in two places at the same height and thread string through it to tie it.
- Alternatively, you can also make handles. To do this, prepare two pieces of string of the same length. Thread one of them through the first hole from the inside and tie a knot inside. Then push the other end through the other hole from the outside and tie a knot again on the inside. Repeat on the other side.
