Decorate the vase with egg carton roses
There are many ways to present your homemade flowers. Perhaps the simplest of these are flower vases. The DIY flowers will not wither compared to real cut flowers and can remain beautiful forever. Here's an idea on how you can make pretty roses yourself to decorate a flower vase (or why not as a gift?).
You will need: egg box, wooden skewers, paint and brushes, scissors, hot glue gun, baby's breath (optional), florist's ribbon, green ribbon
Directions:
- First, cut up the egg cartons. You will need both the cups and additional pieces for the center of the flowers.
- Paint all the pieces different shades of pink and let dry.
- Make holes in the cups with the wooden skewers.
- Make a small spiral out of the extra pieces of cardboard and glue them into the cups as petals.
- Wrap the wooden skewers with florist's tape or simply paint them green.
- Insert the wooden skewers into the egg carton flowers and attach below the flower with hot glue.
- Tie small bows on the flower stem as leaves.
- For the look from the example above, stick small gypsophila flowers into the rose petals.
- Arrange the homemade flowers in a suitable vase and decorate your home.

Flower mobile in pastel colors
Have you ever had one?Made spring mobiles? This beautiful hanging decoration is suitable for any room and is sure to put you in a good mood. Here is a super cute idea you can make with egg carton flowers.
You will need: egg cartons, scissors, pastel colors, brushes, jute twine, embroidery frame or wooden ring for crafts, a wooden skewer, artificial flowers (optional)
Directions:
- Cut the cups out of the egg cartons and use the scissors to round the corners to resemble flowers.
- Paint the cups in colors of your choice. You can combine dark and light shades to create a beautiful visual effect.
- Then make the flower chains. Make holes in the bottom of the cups with the tip of the wooden skewer and thread four to five flowers onto a long piece of string. Make at least 5 flower chains.
- Tie the flower chains to the wooden ring and decorate with artificial flowers as desired.
- Make a hanger out of string and your mobile is ready to hang.
Make thimbles out of egg carton and pipe cleaners
Although these pretty flowers don't bloom in the garden until June, you can enjoy their beauty at any time by making some egg carton foxgloves. Whether red, white, yellow, pink or purple, you can make the flowers in any color.
You will need: egg cartons, scissors, paint, brushes, green pipe cleaners, green construction paper
Directions:
- Cut the sharp dividers from the boxes. For one flower you need a total of 10 dividers, i.e. two 12 egg cartons.
- Now cut the dividers to size. They don't have to be the same size. Leave two thimble bells large, make the next two slightly smaller, and so on until you have 5 pairs of different sizes. Cut the dividers diagonally to closely replicate the bell-shaped flowers.
- Paint the flowers in the chosen color and add details such as green roots and white spots within the bells.
- To make the stems, insert green pipe cleaners into the top of the bells. Attach the smallest bell to a long pipe cleaner and wrap the others around it from small to large. This is how the thimble is created.
- Cut leaves out of green paper and attach them to the stem using another pipe cleaner. Your flower is ready.
Idea for children: Make simple flowers

You will need: egg carton, scissors, paints and brushes, popsicle sticks, glue
Directions:
- Cut the egg carton so that four egg cups remain together. Round off the corners and edges to give the flowers a nicer shape.
- Have the children paint the box in their favorite colors. Whether plain or colorful, everything is allowed.
- Paint the center flower spike a different color to make it stand out.
- Now paint the popsicle sticks green. You can also use paper straws.
- Glue the stems to the back of the cardboard flowers. Now you can put them in pots or in the garden when the weather is sunny.
