Use the packaging as jars
Probably the easiest option, surprise egg packagingto utilize, is to use them again as packaging. If you think they're way too small to be useful, we're probably in for a surprise (the Ü Egg lives up to its name). The yellow, hinged box can be used to store the following things (particularly useful when traveling, for example):
- Headphones and cable, which also prevents tangled cables
- Matches for a campfire
- With small holes on the lid side, pepper and salt shakers are createdfor the picnic(the plastic can be pierced with a heated needle)
- toothpick
- possibly ear sticks if halved
- Storing lollipops: drill a hole in the packaging for the lollipop stick to fit through
- Storing your toothbrush when traveling (following the same principle as with the lollipop)
- Store smaller pieces of jewelry such as necklaces, earrings, piercings and rings
Making pencil sharpeners for school
Drill a hole in the lid of the surprise egg box, the same size as the sharpener hole, so that a pencil or crayon can fit through. Then stick the sharpener on the inside. The wood chips created during sharpening collect in the box and can be disposed of if necessary by simply opening the lid. This original sharpener can also be redesigned with colors, stickers, etc.

- Surprise egg packaging
- red tape
- Scissors
- black Edding
- optional: shapes made from egg boxes
Cut a triangle out of the tape for the beak and tape it above the lid (lid facing down). For the cockscomb, cut out two rectangles of the same size and glue them together only up to the middle. Upcycling ideas for Ü-eggs – making bees with children for spring
The shape of the Ü-eggs even seems to be even better suited to the bee body. In principle you need the same materials asfor the chicks, just in different colors. Use black tape instead of red.
- Glue black adhesive tape strips around the bee's body (2-3 pieces per bee).
- If the tape is very wide, you can cut each strip vertically in half to make it thinner.
- The rest of the design can be done as desired: the wings can be cut out of light blue or white construction paper or formed from play dough. The same applies to the feelers. Eyes and mouth can be easily drawn with a sharpie, but googly eyes are also a great idea.
More cool animals with pipe cleaners, paper or play dough
Fish scales are easily created by punching holes in paper. You can use special punches for this. Pipe cleaners also prove to be very practical when it comes to making elements for animal figures. For example, you can create rabbit ears or a lion's mane. Or how about doing a bit of modeling? This works great with play dough or craft clay!
