Tinker lion to Carnival
The king of animals is a popular idea for children's carnival. Whether as a mask or just as a motif for tinkering, children under the age of 3 would certainly be happy. Together with your child, you can make a lion from some simple materials. Here is the list:
paper plate
Maline or painting pencils in orange, yellow and black
Brush/sponge
Wobble
Scissors
2-year-old children can still not paint real shapes, but they still try. This is even more fun for you, so you can first draw the desired shapes and then leave the painting to the children.
First turn the plate over so that the child can paint the floor. It should now try to paint the inner area yellow and the outer orange. If you want a clear border between the face and mane, you can use a template or painter tape. Once the lion is painted, let the color dry and draw your mouth, nose and eyes (or glue wobbly eyes). Then show the child how it can cut fringes into the box with the children's scissors to design the lion's mane, or make them themselves.

You can also tinker with the lions like a mask by simply cutting out the plate floor. Then give your child several strips of paper in yellow and orange that sticks to the box. If the entire box is covered, you already have a pretty lion mask for the carnival.

Another animal that you can design quickly and easily from a paper plate is the elephant. We show you how only a few cuts turn the plate into an elephant. You need these materials for the project:
paper plate
Scissors
Glue
Undoing
Sponge or brush
Eyes made of paper or wobble eyes
Black pen (optional)
First divide the box into four equally large parts. Cut out two areas opposite, as shown in the picture. One part serves as an elephant trunk, they no longer need the other. Then let your child paint the elephant in any color and glue the trunk on top. Glue your eyes out of paper or draw them and the elephant for carnival is ready.
Crafts with children under 3
If you are parents of a 2-year-old, you will most likely know the song “Baby Shark”. If your child is also a fan of the funny song, then you can tinker with a hai made of paper plate for carnival. To do this, you first have to finish the parts made of colored paper and then it starts. Cut three parts for fins and Finn, which the child should stick on top and on both sides of the haikopf. Instead of painting the head, it can stick it with gray tissue paper. Cut teeth out of white paper and small circles for the eyes. Then just glue your eyes and mouth on the corresponding places and you're done. You can also make the shark blue, yellow or pink so that it matches the baby shark sharks from the video.
Transform the paper plate into a flamingo
Children under 3 can also make a flamingo for carnival. For this again, a paper plate is necessary and some tissue paper for the legs. First cut the plate into half. One half put aside and out of the other, cut a curved neck out of the box and a head from the plate floor. Now it is decorated. With pink color and brush or sponge, the child can paint the body, neck and head of the bird. You only need a little black for the beak and possibly to draw an eye (if you don't have wobbly eyes at hand).
Only the legs remain. Cut out two long strips from orange tissue paper and fold them like a accordion. The child should now stick the legs to the lower side of the flamingo and the handicraft project for carnival is ready.
Tinker a tiger for carnival
Big cats are a great motif for the handicrafts for carnival. In addition to the lion, you can easily conjure up a tiger on the paper plate.
