DIY Halloween background for a photo booth or as a wall decoration for the party

After putting so much effort into thisHalloween costumeand who gave the make-up, of course you also want to have a great memory of it. That's why you usually take a lot of photos. If you have planned a Halloween party, it is also a great idea to provide guests with a creative Halloween background that they can use for photos like this. In this way, the costumes are shown to their best advantage and the photos are given the finishing touches with the appropriate theme. Such backgrounds are also suitable for dessert tables or the buffet, as a background for dance floors or simply for designing a free wall. But what can such a background look like for Halloween? We'll show you some wonderful DIY ideas!

Halloween background with pumpkin made of balloons

Isn't this Halloween background just wonderful? This creative idea is also really easy to implement. You just need to allow a little extra time and prepare for inflationnumerous balloonsBe prepared – unless you use a balloon pump (which we strongly recommend). In this case, you get an elaborate-looking accessory for a photography corner that your guests won't get enough of. Here's what you need:

  • cardboard
  • orange and some yellow balloons
  • green crepe paper
  • Hot glue

Take the cardboard and cut it into many strips. First put these strips together like a pumpkin. For this purpose, feel free to look at pumpkins online to create the right shape. If you are happy with the shape, you can glue the strips together. While the glue dries, blow up lots of balloons. The Halloween background will look even more interesting if you combine different sized balloons and also add a few yellow ones here and there instead of just orange. The nodes of theGlue balloonsThen attach it to the cardboard frame you just made. Now cut out a piece of cardboard for the stem, wrap it with the green crepe paper and glue it to the pumpkin in the same way.

Bats on the wall

The following idea is made even easier because all you need is a template found below and used to trace the bat shape onto black paper, as well as scissors and adhesive strips or dots for the wall.Print out the templateand then cut out the bat. Place the design on black paper, trace the outline with a pencil, and repeat these steps many times until you have the desired number of bats.

Then fold each bat in half, stick a piece of tape or glue dots to the bottom, and then stick the bat to the wall. Then design the free wall like this and you will get an attractive Halloween background that can be used both as a normal Halloween decorationfor taking photos at partiesgreat. The adhesive strips can be easily removed later, so you don't have to worry about your wallpaper or wall paint.

Hanging spiders with glitter on helium balloons

Don't you think this decoration idea for a Halloween background is just super creative? You can either attach the glittering spiders to balloonsfilled with heliumare and float, hang from the ceiling or alternatively you can hang them directly on the ceiling. It's so easy to make this type of Halloween background yourself:

Print the templatefor the spiderseveral times and then cut out the spiders. If you would rather save your printer ink, you can instead print and cut a spider and then transfer it several times onto black paper to then cut out the motifs. Then put a little glue on any part of a spider and sprinkle glitter over it and repeat with the other spiders. Once the glue has dried, you can tap off any excess glitter.

Then poke a hole in the spider's body (or use a hole punch), put string through it, and tie a knot at the back to keep the string from slipping back out of the hole. If you haven't already done this, you can then bend the spider legs to make the spiders look more realistic. Now you can tie the spiders to the balloons and let them float in the room.

Monster teeth as a Halloween background

You will need white poster paper from which to cut out the large teeth. You can use the template below for this purpose. However, instead of printing out the teeth (you probably don't have that big of a printer anyway and would have to go to a copy shop), you can simply trace the teeth by hand to get really large teeth. These don't have to look perfect either. After all, monsters haveno perfect teeth!

So that the teeth can be shown to their best advantage, you should prepare a darker background to which you can stick the teeth. Sheets, curtains and the like are suitable for this purpose. Glue the teethlike a set of teethto the background and you're done. Is white too boring for you? Try yellow ones, they will look even scarier and disgusting!

Candy Corn as Halloween background images with a template to print out

This Halloween background is friendly and whets your appetite for sweets.Candy Cornis one of the most popular candies on Halloween in America and should not be missing from any decoration - whether as a candy, a crafted motif or simply in the form of its typical colors. This idea for a Halloween background with paper candy corn is just right, don't you think? All you have to do is get the following things:

  • Craft cardboard in orange, yellow and pink (or three others if you like)
  • Scissors
  • tape
  • Adhesive strips for the wall
  • Drucker

Download the template at the end of the article and print it on the selected paper colors. Then cut out the individual elements, marking which element has which number (e.g. with a pencil on the back). Then stick 1a to 1b, 2a to 2b and accordingly also 3a to 3b with the adhesive tape or glue. Then glue the resulting three elements together (1a/b is the top, 2a/b the middle and 3a/b the bottom part). Finally, just stick the adhesive strips on the back of each candy corn and then stick them on the wall.

Photo background made of fringes

Or how about these simple fringes as a Halloween background for any areaat the Halloween party? It is the typical Halloween colors that make up this decoration: orange, black and white. Purple, red, green and yellow are also suitable, so you can also put together a different color scheme. This is what you need for the wall decoration:

  • Plastic snow fence (see picture below)
  • thin oilcloth tablecloths in the desired colors (about 3 per color)
  • Hot glue
  • Background stand or, for example, a long wooden stick to hang the background (you can also attach the fringe background directly to the wall.)

Fold one of the tablecloths in half, cut the two layers apart along the fold and repeat with the two halves, making 4 pieces in total. Place these four pieces on top of each other and cut them into 2.5 to 5 cm wide strips. Danger! Don't cut it all the way through, just about 5 cm below the top edge so that you get the fringe andnoseparate strip. Repeat with all other tablecloths, but set aside two pieces of each color.

Now cut the snow fence into the desired size and attach it to your stand or wall. Now glue the prepared fringes to this using hot glue, starting at the bottom and working your way up (this way the upper layers always overlap the lower ones and create even transitions). Now take the tablecloth pieces you set aside earlier and cut them in half (you will get 12 pieces if you work with three colors). Place these over the top of the stand to cover any free spaces. Finally, trim the curtain at the bottom so that it ends at floor level and the Halloween background is ready!

Make your own garland for the Halloween background

A simple garlandcan be enough to make Halloween photos more interesting or to highlight a buffet or dessert table. And you can put these together with ready-made decorations such as paper fans, lanterns, balloons or honeycomb balls. They come in a variety of colors, so you won't have any trouble finding the right Halloween colors. Simply take yarn, cut it to the desired length, hang the piece and attach the chosen decorations to it.

Find a few tootypical Halloween motifsuch as spider webs, spiders, bats, small pumpkins and the like to add the finishing touch to the garland for the Halloween background. In principle, you can let your creativity run wild.

Crescent moon in bright colors

Of course, you decide for yourself whether you want to design the moon in bright colors like in the example or whether you prefer to use typical Halloween colors to create a dark crescent moon. You don't need more than:

  • Fransenbänder
  • Styroporplatte
  • tape
  • Carpet knife

Draw a crescent moon shape on the Styrofoam sheet. For this purpose you can simply use a pointed object and press it lightly into the plate. Then cut out the shape with the utility knife. Since there will be a lot of Styrofoam pieces flying around, you can also do this outdoors. Then take your fringe and cut it into smaller pieces. You are welcome to shorten them too. Then use the adhesive tape to stick the fringes to the moon. Start at the bottom and work your way up, one row at a time.

Of course, the moon is far from the only motif you can choose. Really anything you associate with Halloween is suitable. To help you, you can also print out a large template and use it to transfer the respective motif onto the Styrofoam plate. Lettering is also good. And if you want, you can add some more decorations around this motif. How about, for examplea few of the batsfrom the instructions above?
