Creatively design fruit plates for Halloween for children with monsters, ghosts and more

Of course, that doesn't mean you have to completely forego a little chocolate or icing. These are very helpful for decoration, so that a good balance is created between healthy vitamins and sweets. In order to make it more palatable for children and adults, the design of the fruit plate for Halloween is important. Creepy eye-catchers should be created, which is really not that difficult. Let the children help!

To create different figures out of fruits, you need a few additional products to add the necessary details. For example, equip yourself with the following things:

  • Chocolate/couverture, dark and white
  • thick fruit sauces and/or chocolate/caramel sauce
  • Seeds like sunflower seeds and/or nuts like almonds or walnuts (perfect for creating brains)
  • Chocolate drops
  • Zuckerstreusel
  • Marshmallows, regular and mini
  • Sugar eyes
  • edible flowers (e.g. pansies/violets)
  • Smarties/M&M’s
  • Mini donuts or others
  • Peanut butter or cream cheese for sticking
  • Food sticks
  • Dried fruits

Toothpicks are also a practical tool, with which you can put the individual elements together, as withCrafting with chestnuts.

“Creepy” might not be quite the right word because we’re sure the kids won’t be scared but will laugh at the cool characters. Nevertheless, they fit wonderfully into the Halloween theme and willHalloween buffet for childrengive the perfect effect, whether at home or in kindergarten at the Halloween party.

How about the following ideas?

Pears become ghosts

Not only are pears delicious, but they are also the perfect shape for turning into ghosts. The easiest option would be to peel them whole and then simply stick on chocolate drops for the eyes and mouth. There should be enough juice coming out to attach the chocolate to.

But you can also play a little with other products and add original details:

  • Cut off the top of the pear and place half a walnut on top.
  • Hollow out holes for eyes and mouth. Then use blueberries for the eyes and put raspberries in the mouth. Some red juice may also come out. You can also use fruit sauce or jam for this purpose. Food coloring is also suitable.
  • You can get a few subtle teeth with grains of rice. These should be better removed before consumption.

Grinning monsters

These monsters actually seem rather funny, as they are completed in no time.

  • Cut from an apple of any color (after all, monsters come in all sorts of shapes and colors, like we do atMonster AGhave learned) columns.
  • Prepare the eyes by forming marshmallow pieces into balls and drawing a black pupil with an edible marker. Stick the eyes on toothpicks.
  • Spread the peanut butter on the two columns.
  • Arrange mini marshmallows on one of the two columns and on top of the peanut butter.
  • Place the other column on top, peanut butter side down.
  • Put the eyes through the fruit. Try to connect both columns together so that everything fits tightly.

Apple monsters can be varied as desired. You can simply cut a wedge out of a whole apple and then decorate it with teeth made from sunflower seeds or almond slivers. For the eyes, use mini donuts and marshmallows with chocolate chips on toothpicks, or moisten marshmallows to make the surface a little stickier and attach colorful Smarties.

Make monsters out of kiwis and strawberries

Photo: Olaf Speier/Shutterstock

It couldn't get any easier:

  • First prepare the eyes, as these are also necessary for fixing and so you have them to hand when you need them.
  • Thread mini marshmallows onto the tips of toothpicks. Add pupils using melted chocolate, chocolate sauce or a food stick.
  • Slice kiwis and strawberries. For the strawberries, cut them lengthwise; you need the kiwi slices in a round shape.
  • You need three kiwi slices per monster. You could also use the final, rounded disk as the top of the monster to make it more like a head.

  • Place two kiwi slices on top of each other. Feel free to stick them together with peanut butter or cream cheese.
  • Now add the strawberry slice, leaving it sticking out a little to the front.
  • Hold the whole thing firmly while you place the third kiwi slice on top of the rest and secure it with the eyes on skewers. Try to use the toothpick to pick up the strawberry too.
