Bake eggnog cheesecake without a base for Christmas with a simple recipe

How about grandma's cheesecake for a change? In keeping with the festive Christmas season, you can prepare it with eggnog and ensure just the right flavor. In addition, you don't even need a cake base for our version. How is the eggnog cheesecake made without a base?

The preparation is surprisingly easy and no problem even for those who don't like baking. If you have all the ingredients at home, you can prepare the cake spontaneously.

The eggnog cake can be decorated as desired with additional eggnog or with cream, fruit, caramel sauce or whatever else you like. How you do itChristmas cakebaking with eggnog:

  • 2Packet of vanilla sugar
  • 50gFlour

To decorate:

  • powdered sugar
  • Eggnog
  • orsweetened whipped cream
  • orthe eggnog sauce from the recipe below

Easily prepare cream and cake

Grease a springform pan (20 cm Ø) and sprinkle it with sugar and preheat the oven to 140 degrees.

  • Separate the eggs and mix half the sugar and vanilla sugar.
  • Beat the egg whites until stiff and gradually add the sugar mixture little by little. The egg whites are ready when they form peaks and the sugar has dissolved.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the eggnog with the quark.
  • Use another bowl to whisk the egg yolks with the remaining sugar.
  • Now stir the eggnog curd into the egg yolk and mix everything together well.
  • Now add the flour.
  • Fold in the egg whites.
  • Pour the finished curd cream into the prepared springform pan.
  • Bake for 55 to 60 minutes in a fan oven at 140 degrees.
  • Then turn off the oven, but let the bottomless eggnog cheesecake rest in it for another 30 minutes.
  • Then take the cake out of the oven and remove the ring from the springform pan and let it cool completely.
  • Decorate as you wish. For example, you can top the cheesecake with whipped cream or add it when serving.

Alternatives to quark for the eggnog cheesecake without a base

You can also vary the recipe for the eggnog cake a little if, for example, you don't have any quark in the house. For example, some people prefer thatCheesecake with cream cheese, because this gives a subtly sour taste. But it's not just cream cheese that's suitable:

  • sour cream
  • Greek yogurt
  • cottage cheese
  • Mascarpone
  • Ricotta
  • Sour cream
  • Layered cheese
  • sour cream
  • Cloudy

Alternatives that are slightly thicker than quark will most likely need to be diluted in the recipe. Milk is well suited for this purpose.

Prepare eggnog sauce for topping

A delicious dessert sauce can add the finishing touch to the bottomless eggnog cheesecake.Caramel works very well, but it can also trump the subtle aroma of the liqueur in the cake and that is not the purpose of a dessert sauce. For this reason, we recommend that you do the exact opposite and make a sauce with the same drink. All you need are:

  • 100 g Crème fraîche
  • 4 tbsp eggnog
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar

The eggnog sauce is prepared without cooking. Simply put all the ingredients in a bowl or measuring cup and mix well until the sugar has dissolved. Place the finished sauce in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve the cake, preferably covered so that it does not dry out.
