And if you feel the same way, then you should definitely remember this fairy kisses recipe for Christmas!
Since many baking recipes only use the egg yolk, you often wonder what you should do with the egg white. And here comes the perfect solution! Crispy shortcrust pastry, delicate Toffifee pralines and an airy, light meringue topping – this fairy kisses recipe for Christmas really tastes heavenly! Fairy kisses recipe Grandma's style

Is it complicated to make your own meringue? But you are completely wrong! The preparation of these cute delicacies is quite simple and the result – a real culinary delight!
Ingredients for about 30 pieces
Shortcrust pastry:
- 100 grams of wheat flour
- 40 grams of sugar
- 50 grams butter or margarine, at room temperature
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 Msp. Backpulver
Filling and meringue mixture:
- 30 Toffifee chocolates
- 70 grams of sugar
- 1 egg white
- A pinch of sugar
preparation
- For the shortcrust pastry, mix the wheat flour and baking powder in a bowl.
- Add the butter, sugar and egg yolks and knead into a smooth dough with the dough hook of the hand mixer, first on the lowest and then on the highest setting - takes about 5 minutes. If you like the fairy kisses a little more chocolatey, add around 20 grams of baking cocoa to the dough.
- Form the dough into a roll about 15 cm long on a lightly floured work surface, wrap it in cling film and place it in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (160 degrees fan) and line a large baking tray with baking paper.
- Cut the roll into about 30 slices and place them on the baking tray with some space between them.
- Bake the cookies for 10 minutes and let them cool slightly.
- Reduce oven temperature to 140 degrees (120 degrees fan).
- To make the meringue, beat the egg whites and salt in a bowl with a hand mixer on the highest setting for about 3-4 minutes until very stiff.
- Gradually beat in the sugar and pour the mixture into a piping bag fitted with an 8mm nozzle.
- Place the toffiffee pralines on top of the cookies with the curvature facing upwards.
- Then cover the toffees completely with the meringue mixture and bake for about 30 minutes.
- Allow to cool completely and voilà – the fairy kisses recipe is so easy!
- A little tip - if you don't like Toffifee, you could, for example, prepare the fairy kisses with Lindor balls or Ferrero Rochèr. We promise you – they taste just as heavenly!
Prepare fairy kisses in the Thermomix

A little insider tip - it's even quicker if you skip the shortcrust pastry completely and make the fairy kisses with baking wafers instead.
Ingredients
Dough:
- 150 grams of wheat flour
- 50 grams of sugar
- 100 grams butter, at room temperature
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tbsp water
- A pinch of salt
Filling and meringue mixture:
- 3 egg whites
- 150 grams of sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 48 Toffifee chocolates
preparation
- Put all the ingredients for the dough into the mixing bowl and knead for 25 seconds / speed 4.
- Remove the dough from the mixing bowl and form it into a large ball.
- Flatten the ball slightly, wrap it in cling film and place it in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 170 degrees (150 degrees fan) and line a large baking tray with baking paper.
- Roll out the dough on a floured work surface to about 2-3 mm thick and cut out circles.
- Place the circles on the baking tray and place 1 toffee on each with the chocolate side down.
- Use the mixing attachment for the meringue mixture.
- Add the egg white and salt to the mixing bowl and beat for 3 minutes/speed 3 until stiff.
- After about 1 minute, slowly add the sugar through the opening in the lid and fill the mixture into a piping bag with tulle.
- Cover each toffee completely from bottom to top with the meringue mixture and bake for about 20-25 minutes.
- And your delicious fairy kisses from the Thermomix are ready!
