The necessary materials for the craft project are: scissors, wrapping paper (colored or plain), the gift, a ruler, double-sided tape.

How to do it:

  • First, cut the wrapping paper. Make sure that the piece of paper is 10 cm wider and 20 cm longer than the gift.
  • First, lay the wrapping paper so that the bottom is facing up. Fold it in half and then fold 6 strips about 3cm wide on top of each other.
  • You now need to unfold the wrapping paper, turn it over and crease the folds with the ruler. Then turn the wrapping paper over again so that the inside is facing you.
  • Place the gift in the middle; approx. 5 cm should protrude on the left and right sides.
  • Wrap the gift in the paper and tape the two edges of the long sides together.
  • Press the wrapping paper on the short left side from the top of the gift. Fold the bottom side towards the middle to form a triangle.
  • Fold the bottom side and glue it to the gift. Repeat the process on the other short side.

The “kimono” folding technique is also very simple. The gifts look particularly chic when they are wrapped in plain packaging paper. This way the beautiful motif comes into its own better. For this craft idea you will need: wrapping paper, scissors and adhesive tape.

And this is how it works:

  • First, cut the wrapping paper. Place the gift on the inside of the wrapping paper so that when you turn it over, the bottom part of the paper covers 2/3 of the gift. (see photo above)
  • Press the center of the paper toward the gift, creating two pointed corners at the top and bottom. (see photo below).
  • First fold the top left side, then the top right side to the middle.
  • Then fold the bottom left and bottom right sides toward the center.
  • Tape the ends together with scotch tape.
  • Fold the last page at the top of the gift as usual and secure the ends with the tape.

If you wish, you can also tie a decorative ribbon over the corner of the gift. To measure the required length of the gift ribbon, multiply the length of the gift by two and the height by four. You should calculate an extra 15 cm for the bow.

And this is how you tie the gift ribbon:

  • Place the ribbon across one corner at the bottom of the gift and secure it with tape.
  • Now bring the left end of the gift ribbon to the back of the gift to the top, opposite corner.
  • Then bring the right end of the ribbon to the back of the gift to the top, opposite corner.
  • Tie the ends of the gift ribbon at the top front and tie a bow on the front of the gift.
