  • Then rinse your hair thoroughly with lukewarm water.

After washing your hair with baking soda, an acid rinse is recommended - this closes the cuticle and normalizes the pH value of the scalp. To do this, mix 1 tablespoon of vinegar with 500 ml of cold water and pour it over your head. Whether you rinse it afterwards or not is up to you - the smell of vinegar will disappear when it dries.

Healing clay as an alternative

The healing clay consists of clay and can still be found under the names lava clay, ghassoul and clay. It is a true miracle cure for skin care and is also ideal for the “no-poo” movement! A little tip from us: This mixture is also ideal as a hair treatment. To do this, simply wrap a slightly damp and warm towel around your head and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Then rinse as usual.

Shampoo made from nuts – yes, you read that right. Soap nuts have been known as a remedy in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine for many years.

For this you need:

  • about 15-20 soapnut halves
  • 1 liter of water

  • Bring the soap nuts to the boil in a pot with 500 ml of water, reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Add another 500 ml of water and simmer for another 30 minutes.
  • Let it steep for 1 hour and strain through a sieve.
  • Add the essential oils and pour the mixture into a bottle or jar. Store only in the refrigerator.

Chestnuts for washing hair without shampoo

Chestnuts offer many health benefits – they have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and pain-relieving effects. For this reason they are the perfect alternative for dry scalps.

Ingredients:

  • Circa 20 Rosskastanien
  • 600-700 ml of water
  • An apple, chopped into small pieces and with the seeds
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch to thicken

This is how it is prepared:

  • Cut the chestnuts into small slices and put them in a pot with all the ingredients except the thickeners and bring to the boil.
  • Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes.
  • Strain everything through a sieve into a large bowl and let cool.
  • Squeeze well and stir in cornstarch.
