A one-story house with an open living concept was recently built by BOLOCO Arquitetos not far from the capital of Brazil. The total living space is 400 square meters and extends over just one living level. The modern house with a flat roof is located about 40 km from the capital Brasilia and fits beautifully into the flat, untouched landscape covered with wild plants and lush meadows. The spacious, modern architecture with large windows promotes the nature-based living style that the homeowners desire. The materials used, such as red clinker bricks and concrete inside and outside, also convey the idea of a life in close connection with nature. At the same time, a high level of living comfort is not foregone.
Spacious architecture, red clinker bricks and concrete for a natural living style
The house consists of two elongated structures - pavilions that are on different levels and are connected to each other by external stairs. One contains the bedrooms and next to it there is a pool. In the other building there is actually only one spacious room, which is separated by partitions made of glass orred clinker bricksand the facility is divided into individual areas. The kitchen, living room and outdoor kitchen flow seamlessly into one another. The pavilions are designed to be slightly raised from the ground - on the one hand as protection against insects and lizards and on the other hand as a measure against soil moisture.
Robust materials such as red clinker bricks and concrete are used both indoors and outdoors. They delight with their natural look without any elegant surface treatments or the addition of color. This means that the interior and exterior flow gently into one another and create a harmonious overall picture with the surrounding nature. The large-format windows and glass surfaces orient life in the house completely towards the outside and enable a view of the meadows from every room and every corner. The private rooms are throughhigh clinker wallsprotected from unwanted glances.
