In advance in the video: 5 baking tips: How to make the perfect cake
Do you still know this classic cake? The fire brigade cake combines a buttery shortcrust pastry, a sweet cherry filling and an airy cream topping.
This fire brigade cake is guaranteed to quench your cake cravings. The funny name is very easy to explain. The individual layers of the cake are intended to describe a fire department operation.
At the bottom we have the floor, which symbolizes the wood. Then the red cherries are placed on top, which are supposed to represent the fire. And finally there is a layer of firefighting foam: the cream!
This makes the sweet pastry the ideal party souvenir, a hit at the next birthday party and there is guaranteed to be no leftover piece at the coffee party on Sunday.
