Not long and everywhere, in our gardens and the parks, we will again be able to listen to tons of twittering birds. Also bring yourself a little in spring mood by tinkering simple birds! What materials could you make our feathered friends yourself?
Paper will surely come to mind first. And that is probably the most practical variant, especially if you want to get creative together with children. But they can also combine with other materials such as springs and even use wool.
Swallows made of origami paper or construction paper

How to make the birds made of construction paper:
- Fold the black paper in the middle.

- Put the swallow into the semicircle and stick the white belly preserved in this way.
- You can then punch out the tiny circles for your eyes with a hole. These can be easily positioned with tweezers.
- Draw the pupil on the white circle with a black pen. Complete!

How to tinker the cute birds to hang up:
- Head and body have a drop shape. For this purpose, they simply take a strip and glue or tackle the two ends together.
- The paper strip for the head has about two thirds of the length of the body strip and is also glued together.
- Attach head to body.
- The paper strips for legs and beak are the same length and each have about a third of the headstripe length.
- They fold the legs twice: once at a small distance to the end to get a gag as a gag and again on the other side, but in the opposite direction.
- Also attach the bird legs to the body.
- For the beak, shape a triangle by folding the strip once in the middle and twice at the ends inwards, on both sides at the same distance (for the gags).
- Glue the tabs together and the bird beak on the head.
- Tie cord for hanging.

Birds tinker with springs and paper plates

Step by step to the colorful bird:
- Fold the plate in the middle. On one of the two sides of the wrinkle, stick a small bundle of springs, in such a way that they stand outwards. You get the spring tail.
- Fold the plate again and glue it together.
- Take the tissue paper into small pieces.
- Now work in sections: Put on a smaller area of glue and spread paper snippets on it. Continue until both sides of the plate are completely covered.
- Cut out an orange triangle and a white circle.
- Glue the beak and eye to the correct areas of the circle and draw a black circle for the pupil on the whites.
- If you want, you can also add a branch by simply attaching green leaf shapes to it. In this case, it would be practical to glue the branch between the two plates.
Tinker birds with wool

- Prepare three bundles in any colors. They wrap each of them in the middle with a thread.
- Place two wool bundle across cross and put one of the two strand sides over the upper bundle from the lower, so that you are hooked together.
- They tie them together again directly below the interface of the two bundle.
- Place the third bundle of wool thread over the center of these two.
- Form a ball from a handkerchief or tissue paper to give the whole thing a little volume.
- Position the paper ball below the third bundle.
- Fold the strands that point upwards to enclose the ball and third bundles.
- Now take the side strands (the third bundle) loosely forward.
- Tie all the strands below the paper ball.
- Glue your eyes with hot glue (made of pearls, peppercorns or similar things) and beak made of orange paper on the head.
