Make a snowman with corks
How cute is this snowman please? Even if it doesn't snow outside, you can take some with the little onesMake cute snowmen from different materials. But I particularly like these tiny friends made of corks. They are perfect for little hands to play with and are quick and easy to make. The following is required:
- Wine corks
- white acrylic paint and brush
- Felt pens (black and orange)
- Hand drill, wooden skewer or something else for drilling small holes
- small sticks (optional)
How to make little snowmen:
- Paint the corks with white paint. Let them dry thoroughly.
- Draw eyes, mouth and buttons with black and triangular nose with orange.
- Optional: Drill small holes at the top or sides and decorate the snowmen with the sticks.
Game ideas with snowmen made of corks
If you make several snowmen out of corks, they can serve as toys for the children. It takes a lot to do this, but the possibilities for fun games are simply endless. How about Tic Tac Toe, for example? This only requires 10 corks - five in one color or design, e.g. B. snowmen and five in another, such as reindeer.
Or you can play snowman bowling. Arrange the painted corks in a pile and use a small ball to scoop them away. It's quite fun, especially for small children. Learning to count also works well with larger quantities. Come up with other ideas too!
DIY cork snowman as decoration
A slightly larger snowman is suitable both as a toy for children and as a decoration for the winter. You are welcome to make it even larger than in the example. The main thing is that you have fun and find a suitable application for it. For example, I would use it as decoration for the entrance to the house. The snowman can therefore warmly welcome my guests. To craft with corks you will need the following materials and tools:
- Wine corks
- white acrylic paint
- orange foam rubber
- Ribbon with any pattern
- Hot glue
- Scissors
Craft instructions:
- First, make the snowman's head by gluing two corks, then three corks, and then two more corks together next to each other with the glue gun.
- Then glue the corks together in rows. This should create a hexagon-like shape.
- Until the glue dries well, you can hold the corks together with a rubber band.
- For the snowman's body you need five rows of corks - 3, then 4, then 5, then 4 again and finally 3. This creates a larger hexagon.
- Now paint the bottoms of the corks white and let the paint dry.
- Build the snowman by gluing the head to the body.
- Cut out a triangular nose from orange foam rubber and glue it to the head.
- Cut a piece of decorative ribbon and tie it as a scarf. The cute snowman is ready.
Make a simple snowflake yourself
Similar to the snowman, you can also make one or more snowflakes. These would be a great oneWinter decorations to hang on the windowbe! To make the snowflakes a little finer, you should cut the corks first. This means you can get more snowflakes from fewer corks. You need about 4 corks per snowflake.
All materials needed:
- The cork
- white color
- sharp knife/craft knife
- cutting board
- Hot glue gun
- Loop or string for hanging
And this is how you can make snowflakes with corks:
- To make a snowflake, cut four wine corks into four equal pieces. You will need a total of 13 circles per snowflake, leaving 3 left.
- Then first arrange the circles like a daisy by placing and gluing one circle in the middle and six circles around it.
- Then glue another piece to each of the circles around the outer ring to create the snowflake shape.
- Paint the cut side of the cork white (or the entire snowflake if desired) and add a string hanger to the back if you want to hang the snowflake. That's it. Now you can make as many snowflakes as you want, depending on how many corks you have available.
Funny men
Is there snow on the windowsill right now? These funny little men will bring a good mood even on a gloomy day. Sparkling wine or Prosecco corks are best suited for this fun craft idea because they have a suitable shape. You will also need some wire, a pen and some wool or some pipe cleaners. A hand drill is not necessary, but it is very useful. This is how the males are created:
- Drill holes for legs and arms in the appropriate locations.
- Bend the wire to make legs and arms. Then insert these into the holes.
- Paint funny faces.
- Tie a piece of wool or a pipe cleaner as a scarf.
- Place the males on the windowsill or display them in a box with artificial snow.
Penguin crafts made easy
Did you know that the young penguins go to their own 'kindergarten', so to speak? After a few weeks, they gather in groups and wait patiently while their parents go looking for food. The beautiful residents of the South Pole are another great winter craft idea that kids will love. All you need is acrylic paints and a brush. It's so easy to make them with corks.
- Paint the entire cork black and allow the paint to dry thoroughly.
- Then apply a thick coat of white paint to create the penguin's head and belly.
- Finally, paint the eyes and beak.

Make loving polar bears out of corks
Of course, the polar bears shouldn't be missing from winter crafts! These cute bears are so cute and so easy to make. All you need are champagne corks, white mini pom poms, white paint, glue and a black pen.
The method is also super simple: After painting the corks white, draw the face on the chunky part and finally glue the pompoms to the sides with hot glue. A really quick and great idea!

Make stamps with corks
Does your child love stamping? Then turn the wine corks into stamps! You can choose almost any shape you want. It is better to use simple shapes such as a circle, star or heart, which are easier to cut out at the bottom of the cork.
What you need:
- The cork
- sharp craft knife
- Pencil
- Paint or ink pad
If you want to start preparing for Valentine's Day a little earlier, you can make this sweet heart stamp, for example. You can then use this to embellish cards, pictures or wrapping paper. This is how it works:
- Make sure the cork is clean and dry. Then select the page that will serve as the stamp area.
- Draw the outline of the design onto the stamping surface of the cork.
- Use a sharp knife (or a linocut tool if you have one) to cut along the drawn outline. Work carefully to get the desired shape.
- To stamp, dip the cork stamp in ink or press it onto the ink pad. Test on a separate sheet of paper first to ensure the shape is clearly depicted.
This is just a small part of the ideas you can make with corks in winter. I hope I have helped you with some suggestions and that you will try some of these suggestions yourself. Don't forget: be creative! You may already have the best idea in mind.
