Especially in children, but also in adults, this often leads to a skin rash that itches and looks unsightly. In the worst case scenario, inflammation can also occur. What are prickly heat and what do they look like?
The condition we call heat rash occurs in adults and children when sweat builds up under the skin. When sweat glands are blocked, sweat cannot evaporate, resulting in the formation of small red or skin-colored blisters. These are often filled with fluid and look similar to small pustules. The heat rash, which is also known as a sweat rash or miliaria, is usually harmless and can heal on its own in a short time if the pathogen is eliminated. Children are affected more often than adults because their sweat glands are still developing.

If you don't have ice cubes available, you can use a bag of frozen vegetables instead or simply treat the skin with cold water.
Relieve itching with apple cider vinegar
Many valuable properties are attributed to apple cider vinegar. It is said to keep cholesterol levels under control and at the same time help with weight loss. Apple cider vinegar is also a good home remedy for annoying heat pimples. It has an antibacterial effect and can therefore prevent skin inflammation. The home remedy also helps heal the heat rash and relieves the itching. To use apple cider vinegar against a sweat rash, you should first dilute it with water and rub it into the affected area (e.g. face, décolleté, neck) using a cotton ball.

How cornmeal works as a home remedy for prickly heat
A surprising but effective remedy for heat pustules is cornmeal. The baking ingredient, which is usually used to thicken sauces or creams, is considered to be particularly absorbent and can therefore absorb the accumulated sweat. To use cornmeal for hot spots, apply it directly to itchy skin and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. After the exposure time, wash off the flour and you will immediately feel and notice the improvement in the complexion of your skin.

What else helps against prickly heat?
In addition to home remedies, some simple remedies from the pharmacy can also work well against heat rash. A thermal water spray, for example, is a must-have for your mom's bag in summer, as it quickly soothes the delicate skin so that it no longer itches. The spray consists only of minerals, trace elements and silica and therefore has a quick cooling effect.
A non-prescription zinc ointment from the pharmacy can also relieve the itchy skin irritation caused by heat pimples.
