There are many ways you can live healthy and sensible, but still delicious. Here is a hummus recipe,that you will like very much-chickpea puree with beetroot. You can spread the delicious salad on crispy toast slices that have been roasted until golden brown.
Here are the ingredients:
300g cooked chickpeas
+ a little water
200 g beetroot (marinated with lemon or cooked)
1 EL Sesampaste (Tahin)
To these products you would also have to add a spoonful of tahini (oriental sesame paste), a little bit of the liquid gold - olive oil and, as a touch of India - such as cumin, and the delicious salad is ready.
You could use the humus aseat healthy spreads, just take it as a salad, or as an appetizer to various dishes. The hummus also goes very well with green salad or flatbread.
That's how it's done!
We chop the chickpeas with the hand blender. They would have to be soaked in water first. We take this water together with the chickpeas and puree the whole thing. Then we add the sliced beetroot, a crushed garlic clove, a little cumin, the juice of a lemon, salt, the sesame paste (tahini). The ingredients are blended very well with the blender stick by slowly adding the olive oil in a thin layer. If the paste becomes too thick, we dilute the whole thing with a small amount of the chickpea cooking water.
If you don't have fresh chickpeas, you could use canned ones.
The beet should be soaked in lemon juice for 30 minutes beforehand, but if you don't like the sour taste of the beet, you could of course simply boil the beet briefly in salted water.
Serve in sandwich form with apple slices
Decorate with parsley leaves from beetroot
